Fully immersed in the song, Bob Dylan delivers a beautiful, "detailed" rendition of "Visions of Johanna," one of the standout tracks from his 1966 double album, "Blonde on Blonde."
The performance took place at the United Center in Chicago, during his Fall 2001 U.S. tour.
Unfortunately, too many likely "casual" fans seemed to think this quiet, stately masterpiece of a song--not one of his crowd-pleasing, familiar "greatest hits," offered them a great opportunity to get up, stretch their legs, get some refreshments, or take a bathroom break. So the footage does suffer a bit from a series of repeated, but short interruptions.
The quality of Dylan's performance, however, I think handily outweighs these fleeting distractions. Serious Dylan fans should find much here to like.

It just shows how some superficial types arrive to the “scene” thinking they are the “scene” as the Great Ship 🛳 sails from shore, and they are left empty handed, perhaps without another opportunity “ever” to witness their ship come in again because they are too busy trying ever so relentlessly to steal a show they were never a runner-up in. Nothing was ever about them to begin with…just a thought.A legend in their own minds perhaps 🤔???

Who is the guitar player and the bass player ??
@ArturArtist
@ArturArtist 3 ай бұрын
Guitar player on the left is Charlie Sexton. Guitarist on the right is Larry Campbell. Bassist is Tony Garnier who's been the rock on which Dylan's touring band is built all the way back to 1989 and ever since. Charlie Sexton's great. Larry Campbell is a multi-instrumentalist prodigious musical force of nature. Also plays violin, mandolin, can't remember but probably others as well. He's my single favorite musician out of all Dylan's backing bands. Certainly for the Never Ending Tour. He brought a lot of melodiousness to the sound that hasn't always been there.

The tall, handsome virtuoso is multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell. IMHO Dylan’s his presence made this line-up Dylan’s best Never Ending Tour band.
