4:37 that fact blew me away. Bob Marley is a legend for not forgetting where he came from.

1:21 this part aged well because in the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer the mashed up of 'No Woman No Cry' and 'Alright' by Kendrick Lamar is perfect. It feels like T'challa is telling all the women in his life don't cry, everything's gonna be alright 💜🖤😭🤧

Ahh this makes so much sense now. I didn't know that the "No woman nuh cry" actually meant "No woman, don't cry" I thought it was just a way of saying "If you have a woman you gonna cry" 😂

No he's telling woman to not cry essentially telling them that it's going to be ok

Maybe he's telling the women in his life not to cry because he is gonna go make love to other women. Maybe it was hard for his wife to handle him being a polygamist.

Not just the song that was so viral it also Bob Marley's favorite plus it had helpt a local Jamaican soup kitchen that was on the verg of shutting down and raised money to keep it standing and going plus I absolutely love the song of No Woman Nah Cry its very soulful and heartfelt and a very caring song Bob sang it with all of his heart and soul and brought emotion to it

To me i think Bob found out that he had Cancer. Telling his woman not to cry and remember the good times they had. He didn't want to get his foot chopped off as his feet is his only carriage to help him push on through to the other side, when he's gone he says everything is gonna be alright.

According to my caribbean friend, this is incorrect. I viewed the song in the same way as you do. But he tought me that "No woman no cry" is a old caribbean saying, meaning that you can't miss something you've never had. This is a saying much older than the song. So there is no actual women implied in the song, no specific woman is comforted. Rather, it is a song about the condition of where he grew up, the community which nuritured them and how despite all the hardships they had nothing to lose but all to gain. So don't cry, everything is gonna be alright.

LISTEN UP MISHMASH! THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN BY VINCENT-"TATA"- FORD IN MY TRENCH TOWN BACK YARD AND SHARED WITH BOB MARLEY WHO WAS ALSO WITH US AT THAT TIME. WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT IT IS NOT CORRECT. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEAK THE TRUTH ON THESE SONGS YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO-RAS CARDO WHO CREATED REGGAE AND OWNS THE EXCLUSIVE COPYRIGHTS. HE ALSO WAS A MENTOR AND TEACHER OF MARLEY IN TRENCH TOWN. CHECK HIM OUT FIRST IF YOU WANT TO TELL THE PEOPLE THE TRUTH. RAS CARDO AND HIS TRENCH TOWN CREW ARE STILL AROUND TODAY. GET THE TRUTH. GET THE FACTS. DON'T TEND TO SPEAK ON WHAT YOU REALLY DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE.
