I guess the idea is that Machiavelli is known for his advocacy of being hawkish or devious, while the point of Boo Radley was that he was completely innocent. In other words, Lorne is very hawkish/devious. But while I think he's going for humour with that sort of pedantry, it sorta just falls flat.

Dave cross has always sucked. I’m so glad Bob cut him off his coat tails a long time ago. Even to this day when I watch Mr. show I have to skip his parts… he just gets loud instead of funny and always reverts to a bathroom humor joke. It’s painful.
