You just gotta spice it up a bit for yourself - decorate your desk a little, listen to your favorite tunes all day, put on some nice podcasts, have fun chats with clients, drink some coffee and tea... I stopped because I didn't want that to continue forever, you do feel like your development as a human being somehow stagnates. (And I also felt absolutely 0 connection or loyalty to the company I worked for, and some of my coworkers were really insufferable and politically on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, but I somehow found ways to survive with some meaningless smalltalk.) But all in all, as a kind of in-between sorta job, or while trying to figure out what else you want to do with your life? It was kinda comfy working in an office. honestly the show is very freaking realistic, but when they showed this dream they just hit a new level of metarealism

I think the interesting thing here, is that at the Office, Bob's happy. But that's his nightmare. He isn't afraid of having to work at an office, he's afraid of being content with that position in life, and who he would become more than the job itself.

What the hell is Sam's problem? Bob greets him and is cheerful, Sam just scowls at him the whole time. At least the rest of Bob's coworkers are somewhat conversational.

I think it's the trope of receptionist/security/front desk person. That if you are not in the same tier and talk to them they always get the Aprehensive or "you think you're better than me?" face. Where I am working there's a security/reception guy to whom people occasionally just say "Hi" or try to talk to him and he just makes that face and occasionally mumbles something.

Nah man I get it. Those guys aren't payed to greet people, they have other shit to do, then between 7 and 9 they get a few hundred people walking through the door who expect them to say hello and act all cheerful and talk about their weekend, hundreds of times, each day.

I love the attention to detail they put in the background music. It starts off with light Muzak and slowly fades out except for the one high synth note. You can barely hear it in the scene where Bob signs the card. Then it slowly sound more ominous until Bob wakes up.
