I believe the double coat hook may have had ceramic caps (to prevent digging into the coat and hat) that have been broken off. Back until the mid 1960s, most men wore ties and hats everywhere and ladies put on their Sunday best, sometimes including gloves, hat and occasional veil. Those were the days!

When you were seeing smoking and what you smelled was a clutch that is in there that is designed to slip if it hits something so basically it saves the gearbox and saves any stresses and strains and either the gearbox got hot from lack of oil and lock down and then the clutch started slipping that's where you seen the smoke or it could have got tangled up in something and caused the clutch to slip you can also adjust them as well adding more attention to the clutch that's what's under that cover and that's what you were smelling was clutch material burning

that is what Bob was speculating too. I guess the thick grass was causing it to do that.

As a past farm worker- when you brush hog if it’s a mess- every so often you need to lift the mow bed and let all the crap out- or it accumulates under there and jams the blades and they don’t turn and there you go - clutch slips

That gearbox needs flushed out with oil. It has water mixed in with it. It uses 90w gear oil.That was the clutch that was smoking. You probably need to mow it about 1/2 height on one pass and then ground level on the second pass. You may be putting too much load on the blades causing them to slow down in respect to the PTO revolutions so it causes the clutch to slip and heat up. Let it cool down and it will probably be fine for now. It it slips easily after it cools down, then adjust it.
@brickandsole3 ай бұрын
thanks for the info. I guess I was surprised because it has handled thicker stuff in the past but maybe it's just getting to that point in its lifespan.
@louderone61333 ай бұрын
@@brickandsole that may be, but it also may have never been adjusted correctly in the first place. You never know. Anyway, take it easy on it since it's chinesium. Great tractor though. on that pedestal sink there may be a backet that mounts to the wall. The sink may hang on that bracket catching the lip on the back of the sink then the pedestal can be slid under it.

Chris, before you add another layer of that roofing, you really need to do a complete thorough inspection of the existing roof structure and replace any damaged and rotted areas. Also you need to make sure that the roof joist framing can handle the additional weight. Just remember how old this building is.

For the lawn care, is their anyone you can contact that has sheep/goats? They'll eat the grass back to a nub, leaving you free to do other projects with your building. When our acreages got out of control, (due to health issues), our neighbor brought over his livestock and cleared it up, with us/them getting the benefits, in addition having them hired for year round "clean ups"... saving us from doing that chore!..ijs

The plug in the light socket probably unscrews. Pretty sure you can still buy them, along with a light socket you can plug into an outlet. I'm wondering if you have a slipper clutch slipping on the brush hog. BTW, not sure if slipper clutch is the correct wording. Milk shakes are good unless it's from water in oil / gear lube.
