April 28 I get my last call as a police officer with an agency I’ve served for over 25 years which means I get to retire. This is not an easy career. I don’t care where you serve but had good moments and bad and as my journey ends, I’m looking forward to getting another mountain bike and riding the trails up in Copper Harbor Michigan, and this is one of the songs that I want to hear. As I’m running to the trails and overlooking the beauty.

I'm 36 years old, and here I am blasting this song. It's hard to put into words but i'll try. Growing up my parents were always listening to this, always going out on rides and long trips on the Harley since the day I was born. It was always nice to see them dancing in the living room, or just hanging out having some drinks listening to Bob Seger. Dad was a Vietnam veteran, 68'-69', he was a Marine, a grunt. March 13th, 2016 he was out on a road trip with friends, on a ride to Mexico. 2.5 years later, we miss dearly, it hurts. We will never know what happened, there was an accident and my dad is gone. Somehow they were split up and he was alone on those dangerous roads country roads in Mexico. My only guess is that someone came into his lane and his only choice was to veer off down into an area filled with boulders. I haven't ever really spoke of this, but this song and moment brought me here. I always just remind myself that he died doing what he absolutely loved most, being free and riding. Ride safe, be safe, watch for motorcycles. Semper Fi.

Who remembers Bob Segar when way back when he was with Bob Segar and the Last Herd and did Heavy Music, 2 plus 2, Persercution Smith and so on and would play at places like The Hideout, Grande Ballroom, Crows Nest. My 1st and only introduction to actually meeting Mr. Segar himself, I was walking in the Crows Nest and he invited me into his Van, there was another guy there and was asked if I would care to smoke a joint with them. I did not even like Pot but what the hell? These places where bands like Segar, Alice Cooper, SRC (disliked), was for under 21, Ted Nugent (Can't. still can't stand) just pop but had a black room, dance floor, tables, it was a really cool place. I'm 68 now but still think it was cool. My claim to Fame sitting in a van w/Bob Segar and smoking a joint. I will remember that as along as I can. Mr. Segar, not a chance. Thanks if you took your time out and read this.

I saw Bob do this twice. In his show he had a young lady on 2 large drums, and when he sings "next time we will get right" that young hit those drums so hard, her feet leave the ground. It was unreal! What a song!

Bob Seger put on one of the best live shows out there. Not a whole lot of flashy graphic stuff in the background, just good pure music and he really engaged with the audience. Glad I got to see him in his (our) younger days. If I danced now the way I did then, I'd probably slip a disc or something.

No flash. Just a songwriter that knows how to perform. After all, who needs dancers and big screens or pyrotechnics when you're real? So many artists out there these days wouldn't know an honest lyric if it hit them smack dab in the middle of their face. Half of them can't even play instruments. If you want to be a legend, you have to be good at the basics. And Bob is best.

I just saw him LIVE Saturday....... I STILL HAVE Goose bumps. I said the SAME THING. He is a littler grayer, but HE STILL OMG amazing.. I have to say HIS FANS are some INCREDIBLE PEOPLE. He did not even need a mic. That entire Room was singing WITH HIM and we really could not help ourselves. It Did not FEEL like 100.000 people, it Felt Like the MILLIONS OF TIMES, we pop in the 8 track. in the yard, [this is 40 Years of ADORING this man and his band. ALTO hmmm yum sax. ok dating myself 8 tracks were just starting to go to casset tapes, when I fell in LOVE with Seger. I Wore out cassets listening to him. and Seger along with Kris Kristopherson, were THE FIRST cassets, I turned into CD's Your sitting remembering, reflecting and Next song, on our Feet screaming. It was a FULL ON Standing ovation, from 'Old Time Rock and Roll.' and it was only ONE of MANY Full On Standing ovation My Husband lost a DEAR FRIEND, and that made a couple of these songs, not difficult to hear, but more reflective, then they already are. [he loved Seger BEFORE we Met] {I Loved Seger before we met] Our 8th date in six weeks, we Eloped. Celebrated 33 last month. Our first vacation together, We Burned up Seger's Greatest hits, in the truck stereo, touring ruins. Broke another [remember how they used to tear and you pull and pull and pull, Looooooonnnnnnggg things of casett tape, HOPING It did not get stuck????? OMG, THANK YOU Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet. I was finally able to see Bob Seger in concert a few years ago. It was one of the very best concerts I've ever witnessed and this was from the 4th level and near the back row. This man has more energy and more Rock-N-Roll soul than a dozen of his contemporaries rolled into one. I felt like I was in the front row and felt that he was performing just for me. Amazing concert and a cherished memory for sure.
