This song, well the whole album had a profound impact on this old man when this came out the summer of 1980. My life changed for the better. His songwriting opened my eyes to how much I had wasted up til then. Finished military obligation in 74. Getting spit on kinda ruined my outlook. The State of TN took 2 yrs of my life for not blending in. Marijuana charges, plus overall bad attitude. Those 2 yrs really rubbed in in. But here I am almost 70 and thank God for buying this cassette in on the way to Gatlinburg. Stayed all summer, and worked the ski lodge. Swept the floors, cleaned the toilets and DJed @ night. But after the tourist season ended, I moved to TX, made new friends, and have been happily married w/ 2 wonderful daughters & 2 grand kids. Music can heal your soul. Bob helped along w/ finding Christ also. Christ used Bob's talent to change me from a monster created by Uncle Sam, headed straight to hell on the fast train. My father was a minister and I was tghe black sheep. He passed 8 yrs ago, and He would agree God works greater miracles through music than a pulpit. The lyrics to these ballads sure helped clear up some religious questions I had down the road I traveled. Just felt like sharing that little story of how things worked out for me.

I have to say I really admire those people that took the risk, lived for the moment, loved🌹 for the night and never thought about the consequences. I was the complete opposite always had a schedule, always had a job to go to and other important matters to take care of. I think by living like that I lost a lot of what being young offers you, total freedom from all the b******* in the world 🌍🌟🌍 I don't think I need to say anymore as this song speaks for itself, so to all those who are always running against the wind never give up, you never know may be one day someone will be able to just break right through it 💯🌹💯🌟

At 33 this has always been one of my favs. My dad instilled in us a love of all the greats, petty, browne, mellencamp, but I’ve always loved Segar this song especially and night moves. I’ve always been a fan of nostalgia and the way things were. His songs embody them from the heart. The deep inner knowing of loving and losing, wishing and accepting, with grace, with strength, the ups and downs of life.

U nailed it friend. We've All had our Lost Loves who held us "Ohh so tight" & promised "It would NEVER END." & Many of us encountered "Ohh so many roads". This song mirrors my life so closely that it's almost scary. And at 70yrs old, I could cry like a baby when I hear it. I saw Bob Seger in '72 when he opened for 1Hit Wonder Brownsville Station (Smokin In The Boys Room). He was simply Outstanding, and the way he interacted with the audience, the Pure Energy he produced - made this small venue 1 of the Most Memorable days of my life.

Even though I loved all his songs, especially this one, I never knew, what Bob Seger exactly looks like. When I came to the States as a young girl, I worked in a Pub in St. Pete, Fla, where he and his band showed up. I talked to him for a long time, having absolutely no idea, to whom I was talking. He was an extremely friendly, humorous person. After somebody told me, who he was I felt instantly into rigor mortis - hahaha. This is now over 43 years ago, I´m back in Germany but I still remember it and love his music
