Bob Seger is the voice of America. Every song written is an anthem that finds its way into the hearts of anyone who listens. There is a song for everyone.

I always tell people if you want to know what going to school in the 80's was like, Teachers is one of the movies you have to watch. Great cast and doesn't get the credit it deserves. Pretty decent soundtrack too and this song is one of Bob Seger's most under rated.

Damn, I'd forgotten about this movie, but not the song. Bob Seger rocks. One of the best. A pox on the dolts that gave this a thumbs down.

I have enjoyed Mr Seger's music since the mid 70's. One of my favorite concerts of all time was his performance at the Oakland CA arena in 1981 - hit after hit was played and appreciated by the sold-out audience. Thank you Bob for producing so many hits year after year. A life-long fan in Cupertino CA

Bob Segar is my all time favorite singer. Second is Don Maclean. Both have songs on their albums which serve to strengthen their status as songwriters and singers. If you liked this song check out his albums and listen to all the songs. I can't imagine anyone desribing his songs as subtle. Check out the lyrics and you will find nuances that sometimes remain hidden in his "upfront" delivery. Thanks for posting this song.

I remember this wonderful movie about not failing to Educate the Special Education Student who was just a LAZY BOY & he admitted it to the Teacher in question!Love this Movie about Public Education-it's still HAPPENING TODAY-NEEDS TO STOP NOW FOR THE STUDENTS' SAKE PLEASE!

Great great movie-sad thing is the movie is hilarious but spot-on with the politics and antics that go on behind the scenes in public schools-still holds true to this fuckin day...as long as unions, politicians, and rich parents get their head out of the schools ass and allow the “educators” to run the place it will always hold true.

@Rick Rude - So true... I'm a retired teacher and I've seen this kind of crap, lol. I am also very happy to see that this video is available again, as YT had blocked it a year ago for copyright issues. Thanks for commenting. :)

Hey Hey it was a great and crazy time in the Bronx ny ...25 years and got out in November 2019 right before the shit hit the fan. Yeah my school was a carbon copy of this movie ... spent 2,000 a year on food and supplies for the kids . I did the crossing of the Delaware and got hell for it ...so the next day i set up my hibachi outside the school and cooked pancakes for everyone as they entered. They gave me all the challenging kids ...badge of honor baby.... I had at least 5 Eddies in my career...kept me sharp ......ordering up this baby to watch and reminisce.. stay well

@Rick Rude spot on. Certain things never change. I remember watching this movie with my father on HBO in 1985 almost a year after its release and when they showed the scene where the teacher named Ditto Stiles made the students do nothing but paperwork every day while he read the newspaper, my father said with a bit of excitement in his voice, "I had a teacher just like that when I was in the fourth grade" (back in the 1940's in his case). "She did nothing but make us write Jack and the Beanstalk every day. Eventually, they got rid of her."

Alex Jurel: I don't know, Roger - let's try and find out. The damn school wasn't built for us, Roger. I wasn't built for your unions, your lawyers and all your other institutions. It was built for the kids! They're not here for us, we're here for them. That's what it's about: kids! Roger Rubell: Alex, half of them aren't even coming back after the alarm. Alex Jurel: But half will. I think they're worth it. [kids cheer him] Dr. Donna Burke: Jurel! You're crazy, you know that? Alex Jurel: What can I say? I'm a teacher! [grins at the kids] Alex Jurel: I'm a teacher!
