You hear about Fallen Order? I’m putting it on my Christmas list. That way I don’t spend the money. Also, I believe that the original war between the Jedi and Mandalorians was because the Mandalorians teamed up with the Sith. Even in the current canon, like the Sith, the Mandalorians were once one of the Jedi’s ancient enemies.

I remember Jodo Cast being in a Star Wars RPG (2nd edition) bounty hunter source book in the early 90's. In fact my character stole his armour at one point, that's how much he sucked. I'd never seen him mentioned anywhere else, so this was a blast from the past!

Pre-Disney Retcon there actually was a Mandalorian War between the Mandalorian Warriors and the Jedi Order. It was also where Jango Fett developed a hatred for Jedi. It takes place several years before Episode 1.

Didn't a lot of Mandalorian stuff get retconned before Disney after Clone Wars changed a bunch of stuff and Jango Fett wasn't a Mandalorian? Since the TV show was a higher level of canon than the books and comics and its creators did those own thing rather than worry about being consistent.

Admittedly all I know about Boba Fett and Dengar is these Star Wars episodes, but it sounds like Dengar and Fett are actually decent friends. Granted it seems like Dengar puts more work into the relationship, but I get the impression that the two of them get beers on the regular and have a friendly professional competition on missions.

Re-watching in 2024 as a government employee and former government contractor. I now realize the brilliance of George Lucas' plot against Senator Amidala. This was obviously a satire of government contracting where you hire a Prime Contractor who then offloads the work to subcontractors and not just a weird scene.

Jodo Kast actually comes from the old Star Wars RPG. He was created as a stand in for Boba Fett so that players can kill a bounty hunter who has Mandalorian Armor. The Star Wars RPGs of those days would have short stories involving the characters.

The original complete Star Wars encyclopedia from the early 2000’s has a diagram of the pit and a little blurb about that, I would know because I owned three copies as a child.
