I get if the OG actors were getting tired of the show and wanted to leave like Carlos and Tom but they could’ve honestly replaced their legacy with people who can actually relate and match their personalities chester was actually amazing when he was paired with cisco but the more they started making him share scenes with Cecile and Allegra the more he started to crumble and fall Cecile should’ve stayed a DA and sure maybe have her base powers to help meta humans but that’s it make her leave also with Joe when he left. Allegra either shouldnt have been brought on at all or just should’ve stayed a reporter with Iris. Khione shouldn’t have existed at all and Caitlin should’ve continued living

Eric Wallace doesn't ever deserve to be a showrunner ever again. I can't lie the Negative Speed-Force opening scene was cool some of the best dialogue was written especially Tom's. Rick brought his A-game as Cobalt-Blue, shame that the suit was only shown for one episode. Sucks that Zoom never got to have that interaction with Savitar about a version of Barry actually being like him. He has ways of pulling you in getting you excited then it suddenly flops in a way. This series finale had emotional and epic scenes. Some fell short. The Allegra and Chester scene with her leaning over him because she thought he "died" by Reverse-Flash's hands was not needed and lasted too long. Finally she did something useful as Accelerant. How convenient Chester finds out he has his black hole powers but never got to use them. Exactly what I was afraid of was Zoom being nerfed and it happened! Godspeed was sort of cool but nerfed, good to know he died in the year 2052, by Impulse? Reverse-Flash was nerfed. Savitar actually stabbed Nora but she phased her body, which was dope, a nice callback to S3. The birth of Nora West-Allen and Barry telling her the story of his origin was very sentimental....that I really enjoyed. Plus Joe having his moments with his first grandchild. Nora holding baby Nora is causing so many timeline problems but hey, it's the final ep. Caitlin's body was finally given back by the Khione goddess. Barry giving people his powers like Avery Ho, Max Mercury and Jess Chambers was awesome but it's too little too late, that felt like a cliffhanger to a spinoff series. I understand the Arrowverse lives on but I would've rather had the FLASH MUSEUM ending. But even though this finale had flaws and it could've been better....this show and its universe and it's characters will truly be missed.

Some corrections I would've made are Chester and/or Allegra dying for an emotional impact and to show off Thawne's brutality instead of just being confident for no flipping reason. To add more, I can't have rooted more for Thawne to finish Chester off since I can't even remember the last time that Thawne killed someone. Zoom should have had a cooler fight instead of Khonie oneshoting this poor dude. And Chilblaine is practically useless in every fight including this one. As for Zoom, bro can't even react to his own bolt of lightning. Savitar was awesome. But godspeed flipping sucked bro. Cecile destroyed his dang career like it was nothing. Bro calls himself the god of speed and can't even destroy Cecile man. By the way, how in the flipping flip did Cecile get her powers?! Bro, I left at s7 bc the cgi was dogwater and the last thing I could remember, she could only read minds. And now, she can flipping FLY?!? What the... And overall, it sucks how rushed this episode was. We didn't get time to see the evil speedsters truly show themselves off and kick some ass. But the ending was really nice. I'll really miss this show.

This was a finale. One moment I liked was Barry's final run. But this episode had me baffled. The villains were nerfed so hard. The acting was worse than I expected, idk why Zoom was moving his head like a pigeon towards Godspeed in their first interaction 😂 and Cecile+Joe's engagement gave me Oliver+Felicity+Barry+Iris wedding vibes. And since when could she fly? Maybe it would've been better if they brought in Wally and Bart again, would at least make sense for them to take on the evil speedsters bc I can't believe Cecile and Allegra easily took out Godspeed and Eobard. This was one hell of an experience 😬 Edit: also, what's up all these speedsters using their speed force powers like Black Lightning or Palpatine? Not an issue I have with just this episode but just in the recent seasons. I just wished they could've been more creative.

To answer your edit, the showrunners decided to go full on star wars copycat mode. Throwing lighting to kill someone like Eobard does with Chester instead of just phasing through his heart (which is easier) like he did Cisco is a prime example. Moreover, lighting lightsabers can of course be counted in that. Cecile literally using the power of the force against Godspeed during the battle is another example. The fight between the positive and the negative speedforce is literally the rivalry between the light and the darkside of the force (get it, both are called forces). These are alo elements that I don’t recall seeing in the flash comics for a reason (I didn’t really go further than the rebirth, so maybe I’m wrong, don’t hesitate to tell me).

I’ve never been more disappointed by a series final. It spits in the face of fan favorite villains, celebrates characters that are pretty much universally hated, has a final “battle” that is resolved way to quickly, and ends by setting up something we will never get to see. What a joke of a way to end off a 9 season show and not just that but an entire tv universe I genuinely have no clue how Eric Wallace did not get fired.

My complaints for the series finale. Cobalt Blue's storyline with Eddie Thawne should have started in episode 8 and could have shown Eobard Thawne's early years along with Eddie right when he ended up in 2049 after going through the singularity. It was rushed and most people agree. His lightning should have been blue just like the comics, the suit was perfect and definitely more fight scenes with him and Barry. Cecile's future self didn't need to be in the finale but I get why she was in it like that. Cisco not being in the scene with Eobard attacking Chester made zero sense because it would have paid homage to season 1 between those 2. He could have saved Chester by blasting Thawne easily. Overall I did enjoy how it ended for Barry and Iris along with the Easter eggs that were planted at the end which was really cool. I just wish the cobalt blue storyline would have been longer witches my biggest complaint but overall I was happy with what we got from it..

25:30 To play Devil's Advocate... I think Eric Wallace's idea of the Negative Speed Force has become a sort of _force of nature_ more than some evil presence. Barry being the Paragon of Love _and_ a natural source of Speed Force energy when he runs is probably an intentional narrative choice to explain why the Negative Speed Force even exists. The multiverse needed to create a mirror, its literal reverse, that feeds off of not love, but resentment, jealousy, and hatred. Eobard, as petty and vicious as he was, was redeemable, as we saw in Legends, then season 8 of the Flash, when he found someone to _love_ that took priority over his need for speed. Nora was virtually a kid, still, and had felt abandoned, unloved, and alone, and trusted the wrong man that let the wrong feelings empower her, letting her think she could control it. Eddie was a man suddenly back from the dead and saw his life seemingly stolen from him by the man he saved. All three required outside influences to finally get their heads on straight, but in the end _they got their heads on straight_ and did something that aligned with Barry's goals. Who's to say any future avatars can't be similarly brought back? That being said, they didn't give this idea enough time to breathe or explain why Khione was so for this coexistence thing. I'd say they didn't have time to flesh it out, because the finale was reportedly rushed... but it's no secret that there was some inexplicable filler this season. Maybe in its place we could've gotten one other Reverse Flash we've never seen mentioned in the show - Daniel West - but as an anti-hero using the NSF for good, to set the stage not only for the finale, but for Barry's later attempt to talk Eobard down again.

Your take on Eric Wallace and the changes to the show are entirely correct, and yes, Eric Wallace doesn't understand that just because dialogue is like this in comic books, it doesn't work on screen in the same style. He REALLY doesn't it like. Same with cramming stories into 4 or 5 episodes like a comic run. But your take on the story as a whole is so spot on. Oh, to explain Wells, in S7 Eric Wallace had the OG Wells randomly resurrect with no explanation whatsoever, but now he's randomly a Time Lord, says peace out, and leaves. The first of the huge 'how does this make sense, and why' moments Eric introduced that started a VERY bad habit.

The speedster team-up should have been a 4-5 episode arc at the very least. There was so much wasted potential regarding team dynamics. Here’s what I would have done regarding each member’s role: Cobalt Blue: Strongest of the bunch and the unofficial leader. I would’ve added an additional layer of motivation to Eddie’s turn to villainy in him thinking that Barry dishonored his sacrifice through not having the guts to kill Thawne whenever he constantly reappeared and committed atrocity after atrocity, which would lead to Eddie’s desire to become a better and more effective hero than Barry. He’d bring back the other four speedsters for two purposes: 1. To serve as assistance in finally killing Barry and 2. To use them as fuel sources to make him stronger through generation of more and more Negative Speed Force energy whenever they run at super speed, which he would ultimately use to utterly destroy the timeline and recreate it as he sees fit. Reverse Flash (Played by Matt Letscher, NOT Tom Cavanagh): He’d be the scheming, manipulative member of the team, obviously, and would basically be the devil on Eddie’s shoulder whenever he feels any lingering doubts or hesitation. Zoom: He’d be the most rebellious and violent of the group, with him being especially pissed at Barry for letting the Time Wraiths take him and transform him into the Speed Force’s slave. He’d hate being part of a team and would constantly be provoking and itching for a fight with his teammates, Savitar in particular. Savitar: He’d kinda serve as the team’s “muscle” because of his armored suit and would be willing to team up with the others for one last go at killing Barry. He’d have high contempt and disgust for Reverse Flash and Zoom due to them killing his parents but would be willing to cooperate with Cobalt Blue out of lingering fondness for his old, previously deceased friend. I’d have him and Zoom be at each other’s throats due to Zoom making constant cruel taunts toward him regarding the night he killed Henry Allen, and the team’s overall mission to kill Barry would be temporarily derailed at times due to both of them trying to fight and kill one another. Godspeed: Capitalizing on his poor reception in season 7, he’d be the butt of the joke in the group. Shared irritation regarding him and his loud theatrics would be the one thing Zoom and Savitar agree on lol. He’d be the least effective member of the team whom none of his other teammates would take seriously. They’d have no problem using him as a decoy to lure out Barry and letting the latter kick his ass for a little while or even using him as a human shield against a lightning attack 😂😂. But yeah, what a wasted opportunity for some fun and cool moments in the final arc.

Like it took Barry half a season to defeat most of them and now he does it in half an episode? It was pretty obvious he was gonna win. Like with zoom, I was genuinely scared he was gonna die or even with savitar. But this was not stressful enough for a Flash final episode.

The only way the “speedforce lightning” that Thawne did works is if he vibrated his hands or arms before hand in order to generate that electricity, like how speedsters generate electricity while running. I don’t know why they just don’t show that.

I stopped watching The Flash after Armageddon. I jumped back when they're doing a 4 part Finale. Part 1 of this arc was really good. It was like the best episode The Flash has done for years. The episodes after went downhill! I do like Eddie Thawne as a villain, but for just one episode was underwhelming. But that fight scene with Flash and Cobalt Blue was cool. Rick Cosnett sold it with the running.

"I found the treatment of the big villains in the finale to be underwhelming. It seemed like the show's idea of high stakes was limited to blowing up a few cars and smashing windows, which left me wanting more. I was particularly disappointed by how Godspeed was defeated by a headache and Thawne was taken out by sunlight. Additionally, Chillblaine didn't serve much purpose in the final fight. I also had questions about Jay's knowledge of speed absorption without meeting his Earth-90 counterpart and how he absorbed Eddie's Negative Speed without any harm. In my opinion, it would have been more impactful if the main villains were brought back in the second half of the previous episode and systematically eliminated the team one by one. Introducing additional references from previous seasons could have added to the nostalgia and tension. For example, instead of Jay absorbing Eddie's speed, they could have recreated the Rival vs. Barry and Cisco fight from Season 3 Episode 2, where Jay gets attacked from behind by Zoom as a surprise twist, referencing Season 2 Episode 22. This could have led to a situation where Barry had to time travel back a few hours to regroup and prepare the team for the final battle. Sharing his speed with the team, similar to Season 4 Episode 22, would have made it more believable that they could take on the main villains. As for Cecile, I think her powers could have been better explained. One possible approach could have been to clarify that her telepathic/empathic abilities allow her to synchronize with her opponents, granting her the ability to react as fast as speedsters. Providing this explanation would have added depth to her character. The finale left me with a sense of dissatisfaction. It felt rushed, as if the show was trying to conclude the Flash-related storyline as quickly as possible. The final confrontation mainly consisted of a conversation where Eddie had a sudden change of heart to wrap things up. I am disappointed by the overall execution and question the decision-making process behind the scenes."

The way Thawne, Godspeed and Savitar went out is the essence of Flash's poor writing. I can't comprehend why Cecile was forced into the role of a superhero, she got her own suit and apparently can fly now and react to multiple speedsters running at her. Final arc should have been longer, the past villains should've gotten more screen time and interacted with each other more.

I've been hate watching The Flash (on double and triple speed) for the past few seasons because I'd come this far, so it was a relief that they finally allowed the show to die. The show started off with a bang but ended as a wet fart. Happy to hear your more level and dispassionate critique.

I am a completionist. So I force myself to get through this serious. I do believe the show was good or decent, for the first 2-3 seasons. I definitely agree with everything that you have said. Especially the claymation CGI look. And all of the big bads were defeated really easy. To me this entire season was the worst out of all of them. And red death what's a waste of time. Definitely happy that the series has come to its end!!

FFS they turned him into Mace Windu! And Caitlin/Keone? is a Jedi Master god who can absorb and deflect Speed Force Lightning

Last episode had a lot of issues for me, mainly the same issues as everyone had. This was supposed to be Flash big moment and time to prove he is the fastest man alive but still they barely made him do anything in this episode. Eddie telling all the speedsters they failed because they tried to beat Barry alone but moments later they all split up to fight separate miniboss battles and get easily defeated was the worst part of the whole episode. I am disappointed we did not get Cisco cameo on the finale considering he was one of OG team flash members. Ending was quite good with Barry creating new speedsters but this whole last arc was rushed and we got Cobalt Blue (in costume and with powers) only in the last episode. I was kinda cheering for Chuck to die, I feel like in 9 seasons only none of the main characters died and just a couple of side ones (mainly Wells-es). kept watching the Flash till the end even after quality of storylines decreased so it feelt like end of one era as this is not only the end of the Flash TV show but also end of arrowverse. You realise it must be really bad when you barely can find anyone on YT to keep doing reviews till the end.

Like you, I found a few touching moments in the series finale, but overall I thought it was one of the worst hours of television I've seen. If the Team Flash members could so easily overcome the villains, why couldn't Flash when he first met them? I have a bad habit of watching a TV series until the end, even if I'm not enjoying it anymore. I did this with The Flash, which I probably should have stopped watching at the end of season seven. For some reason, I stayed on through season eight, and then I knew season nine was only 13 episodes, so I stayed with it. But, man, I have no memory of many of the earlier events you mention!

They have a teleport device so that’s probably how Keon got to zoom so fast 🤷🏻‍♂️ and I think the negative speed force is still negative but Eddie is just in control of it .maybe zoom did the circle thing because he ran around in the finale session 2 he ran around in a race and he just witnessed that before he died . I think thawne got distracted when Allegra shot him .and I know Nora stabbed savitar but I don’t think he’s dead I think he just got electrocuted by the suit when she did that .then I’m guessing all the villains went back to there timeline

I had a ton of comments about this season, but they all got erased when the page refreshed for some reason. I don't want to write it all again, but the summation is I dropped watching the Flash during the Mirror Master season. Watching this season reassured me I made the right decision. Seeing Stephen Amell in the cowl again (and his fight scene) was the best part of this season. Seeing actors from the first seasons come back reinforced why the final season was a disappointment.

I loved the flash, I was 13 when I watched the first episode when it aired and continued watching it until the crisis crossovers. I had noticed the quality decline before crisis (around season 3) and I just kept watching hoping it would get better because I loved the characters and the actors but I just couldn’t take how different it was compared to seasons 1-2. I first started watching your channel when Gotham season 4 (I think it was 4) was airing and saw that you reviewed most of my favorite shows and subscribed. I continued watching your flash reviews because even though I didn’t watch the flash every week I wanted to see if there would be any good episodes because I tend to agree with most of your criticisms and positive points. I didn’t blame you when you stopped watching and have continued to watch and enjoy your other reviews and other videos over the years. I agree with what you said of not being as emotional that it’s over because I stopped watching a long time ago but I do miss what the show once was and I will miss Grant as the flash.

Hey boba to answer your question the wells that appeared to talk to Keon was the original the very first one he is known as timeless wells his very first appearance was in season, one episode 17 and then again in season 7 episode 3 in the end credit scene if you remember season six supposed to have a complete season but it only had 19 episodes because of the Covid shut down so Eric Wallace finished the rest of season six with those three episodes and timeless Wells he officially introduced himself to Barry and the rest of the team in episode 4 of season 7

Those clouds are teleport things from Nash Wells. They’ve always been kind of plot needs. Virtue is that powerful now. She ramped up considerably in the last season. I kind of take it like Season 7 of Buffy where the Turok-Han were unstoppable a single one bodied the cast the whole season and an army of them was getting pushed back by the finale.

Been here for gotham, start to finish. Flash start to finish and all the other shows (especially Lucifer as much as I loved the show) have let me learn to lower my expectations for finales over the years but fucking hell…. Eric why would u end the show like this? I’m not even mad I’m just in a mode of well that’s it then. I can’t put a finger on what it is but I feel like even the writers of riverdale could move gave a better ending for this. But I was 13 when this all started and now 24 and all I can say at the end of it is thank you grant and Candice for brining Barry and iris to life and for making the world of the flash be a escape for so many years and help me meet find people who enjoyed it as much as me. Regardless of how I feel about the end of it I’ll always be thankful to the CW and arrow verse. And boba if u read this man, thanks for enduring the rollercoaster with us all these years💯
