Perfect for me. I developed back pain after visiting my chiropractor who twisted my spine like a pretzel to try to straighten it a bit. I tried the bending down and bending one knee at a time….very good. Didn’t do others. I feel muscle spasms which I never had before. But just doing the one exercise and thinking about the massage tool…and heat? I feel better already. This all happened in the lower back.

I suffer from fibro. I changed my diet and it helped a lot. Limit (I need to eliminate) wheat and sugar, dairy except fermented and maybe nightshades (tomato, potato, eggplant). I have to use a soft roller or it hurts. I use pool noodle rolled over every part of my body I can reach. Doesnt sound like much but it really helps. Guess it massages the fascia and helps release the pain. Good luck folks. So many people are suffering pain.

How nice that Bob & Brad are picking up on the great (and funny!) interview they did with me some time ago! The book which they recommend here is 'Fascial Fitness' at North Atlantic Books; and I agree this is a very useful introduction, particularly for lay persons without much medical background. However, for PTs and other health professionals I would recommend the new (2nd) edition of 'Fascia in Sport & Movement' , since it also includes some of the newer research findings. Great to see, how well Bob & Brad are translating today some of general concepts into very useful practical applications. 👍

I had excruciating nerve pain in my right buttock that seemed like sciatica but it didn’t respond like sciatic to all treatments and imaging showed nothing. In the end a very knowledgeable RMT that was trained in fascia release was able to identify the source of my problems and with many issues it was more than one thing but the biggest agitator was the fascia in my opposite hamstring and ever appointment with him there was a notable improvement and in total about 5-6 appointments and pain that would wake me in the middle of the night screaming, even with multiple pain killers was gone!

I’d love it if you guys would interview Miranda Esmonde-Whire one day. She has a few fascia connective tissue workouts. She says it’s usually fascia when you feel it across large areas where it’s not just one specific muscle. Very Slow movements are best she says because if you use momentum the fascia doesn’t get worked. You want to feel it and it should feel really good.

And fascia is a liquid and a solid and is like a spiderweb all around the body not just the muscles. So I don’t know if stretching it would be beneficial cause of fascia having the resemblance of a spiderweb. When you pull on one end the other is affected greatly. So trying to “loosen” the fascia to get more mobility is not a good idea. “Mobility without stability equals vulnerability” - Brandon O’Connor, MAT specialist

@azdjedi Жыл бұрын
I don't think foam rolling will release the fascia. The fascia needs to be sheered or pin & streched. You gotta move the muscle you're trying to release, while hold pressuing on the point that hurts. Go find some videos by fascia experts. These guys are great and I watched many of their videos years ago, but these techniques enver worked for me.

i have tendonitis and plantar fasciitis in my left foot…. can someone tell me what video they’ve made for the subject
@anyascelticcreations3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what videos they have about those issues. I'm sure they do. But for plantar fascitis, don't use cold therapy and then try to work the tissue. It will cause fascia microtears. Use heat instead. Soaking the feet in warm water and then rolling a golf ball under the foot is excellent. If you do want to ice your feet, don't put any weight on your feet at all until they are fully warm again. And gently stretch and massage your feet first thing when you wake up before putting any weight on them. Don't walk, even to the bathroom, until you've stretched your feet. As far as tendinitis, I would say look up their videos. The best results that I had with that was to supplement the diet with collagen. And stop doing whatever you did that caused the tendinitis until you're fully healed. Plus the stretches and massage that Bob and Brad probably recommend.
