A real Happy 73th Birthday to Mr. Bobby Radcliff Ewan and really ALL the best to him ... (2024-0922)

I knew him and performed with him on stage. He was a fan of Holly and The Italians who was a friend of my mother's. He let me play harmonica on stage with him and it was the highlight of my life. One of the greatest guitar players I've ever heard live. My first time hearing him was at CBGB's December 1989. He opened for Richard Lloyd and would follow him doing more performances because the crowd would scream for more. What an amazing night. I was 18 years old... (under age but didn't drink) and it felt like an important experience for me. Thank you Bobby for giving me the chance to perform with you on stage decades later.

Saw Bobby with the Reapers in a basement club (forget the name) up the Cross m a n y years ago, must have been around this time. Used to go see the Reapers at the Bridge in Rozelle and at the Orange Grove too back then . Seem to remember Robert Susz used to drink Pernot back in those days.

I was in Sydney in 1992 and saw bobby play there, it was incredible to see him live at that time. I'm surprised his career never seemed to take off.

I heard him recently in New York. Blues and jazz have never gotten the following they deserve. For a lot of reasons, and I think it's a shame, because they are the quintessential American music!

unfortunately this is the only song I have on tape. It was a one-off TV performance, one song only. We did some other TV shows, but i don't have the recordings.
