That beach is fantastic. So beautiful to see land set aside for everyone to enjoy instead of a ton of houses blocking the access.

Stayed at min y Don last Thursday through Sunday, great site and facilities and 5 minutes from that beach!!!! The dogs loved it

That was lovely, thank you. Stunning views from the castle, you can see why they picked that spot, being able to see for miles around, no danger of enemies sneaking up on them. I was surprised that there weren't any railings on top of the walls at the top of the castle though, the walls were very low. That beach looked gorgeous, and I really enjoyed seeing the girls having fun, chasing each other!

Think the walls are about four foot high. Felt safe enough. Thanks for watching.

Really enjoyed that thankyou. That camp site you noticed from the castle, I stayed at in 1971. Brought back lots of good memories.

Another stunningly beautiful video, but scary. Not surprised that "dad" kept a hold of sons hand. Those wall on the upper levels looked really low, one stumble and over you go. I don't think I could have done it. The beach was more my level. Thank you both for a good day out. 👏👏👍⛱

Yes I agree, I do suffer from vertigo and was feeling it just watching the vid. There is no way I could have walked the upper ramparts so thanks for the wonderful views.

Beautiful, Beautiful place! There are 5 one bedroom luxury apartments in the building that houses the entrance and shop! We’ve stayed there on a couple of occasions, stunning views. CADW members get a discount (happy days). Safe travels 😃

I thought the sea level was rising rather than subsided over decades. That was interesting! I suppose at 20:46 the tower had wooden floors and levels. Surely they can restore some little sections in detail. From the outside, this castle looks imposing where the previous didn't... but what made the previous exciting was the chapel. Beaumaris .... Here they have to restore like the first floor to give the feeling of the layout. Thanks Bob! Nice video! :-)

Thanks for the tour around the Castle Bob, although it did nothing for my fear of heights! Can't believe they don't have more rails up there, the side walls are so low. Used to stay near Porthmadog on holidays and never got to the castle.

I believe you are off on the Welsh Highland Railway tomorrow. Are you catching the train from Porthmadog to Caernarfon or visa versa, I am guessing Porthmadog is closer to where you are staying. It is a stunning line with great views of Snowdon. Hope you enjoy similar weather tomorrow

Amazing castle/fortress guys, imagine all the men working on it over six years, would have been a big team i should think. I wonder if they got paid or just provided with food and accomodation? Thankyou, its a first for me to see a castle in realtime close up. I am related by blood to the McRae Clan who i understand had a castle in a Scottish lake with an underwater roadway. Bob, NZ.

Edward enlisted tradesmen from all over England and northern Europe to help build the castles in Wales. Can't imagine they'd have done it for free. Worth having a look at the videos on Guedelon Castle in France for how these places were built. It's fascinating stuff!

Nice video Bob, could you park a motorhome at castle? Car park didn’t look to big.
@BobEarnshawMoHo5 жыл бұрын
You would struggle to get a decent sized motorhome in that car park. Better to park down at the beach and hike up!
