A better ending to that story would have been the money loving dude saw a Maggie doll that looked like his mom and he realised the speciality of unique dolls and it made him see that Christmas isn't all about money and the Little Light shining brought the family's dad back to them guided by the light. I mean man...that would've fitted with the "plot" and at least had some sentimentality to it!

When the movie ended I was like, "Wait, that's it?" Greedy guy throws out the light, kid finds the light, kid begs mom to put it on the tree, light sings, greedy guy is guided by light and turns good, the end? That's literally the laziest, least inspired plotline I've ever heard. There's no rising tension or stakes AT ALL, it just goes in a boring straight line! Noelle the Christmas Tree Ornament could kick this movie's ass in a dark alley.

I know this is a bad movie but Is it just me or would the Dolls that the mom made, the father off at war & the narrator turning out to be the little boy who now grown up would have been good Devices for the plot later on. Nothing special but missed opportunities. The kids, Mom, & Neighbor should have at least talked about the father & how much they missed him during Christmas.
