Excellent job! I’ve always wondered how a lead bend was installed. Your video is the only video that shows how to do that properly. Keep up the good work. I learn each time I see your videos and I appreciate it!

Bullet proof joint beautiful work. I always seen it done with spool solder but now I see it was a shortcut.The only thing I don't like is the green donut. Nice work for sure thanks for these videos. Its great to see a real Craftsman at work and not a Pex Plumber.

When i re-modeled my bathroom there was a lead bend that was just peened over the flange and some solder filled in. The house was built in 1954.

Plumbing use to involve so much skill and art. Its kind of a shame to see it losing that touch these days with different materials.
@BobsPlumbingVideosАй бұрын
Unfortunately, the skill is gone! Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing ?

Amazing as always Bob and I never seen that done before. That's solder takes a lot of heat to melt and the part with the candle wax you said it cools the joint and I'm wondering how it actually cools it. either way thank you again Bob and don't work too hard if that's possible❤

@@BobsPlumbingVideos its a pleasure to work with in many ways. Its also cheaper but everything comes at a price. Either it be a harder day in exchange for outstanding joints and material or quick and cheap for inferior weak products.

Bob, have you made a video explaining & showing how to *properly* tighten pipe threads in cat iron, brass, PVC, & CPVC? I've worked with all of these (but not a lot as a "DIYer") and never know if I'm not tightening enough or overtightening the fittings. I've broken PVC and maybe CPVC too by overtightening the connections. If you haven't made a video like this, please do!

Thanks for the recommendation.

Nowadays I see a lot of guys just peel it over I even seen epoxy instead of the lead buy nowadays everything is PVC they transition from the cast iron with a Franco clamp and bring PVC up to the floor you're going back to the 1960s the way I was taught plumbers for real plumbers I remember doing offsets to fill up a toilet tank with brass pipe no Speedy tubes

Unfortunately the skill is gone and most certainly forgotten!
