you could make something like this and when you make the brim just make 2 or three stitches in each stitch to make it ruffle

I LOVE your tutorials! I learned to crochet by using your tutorials. Now I'm crocheting everything! I like going by the pattern because it's faster. Yes i used a G hook for the main section I have really loose tension so i like to use a smaller hook, but you can use the hook you normally use with your yarn, Then a small hook to get tight tension for the brim, thank you for watching

Also, when I have a pattern that says to work 1dc, then 2dc in same sp or st, then 1dc, etc...I usually start with the 2dc in same sp, which is chain 4 & then dc in that stitch to make the second dc, then go to 1dc in next dc, the 2dc in same sp or stitch, etc... Having 2dc at the beginning helps to fill in that space better when you come around to join there. Just another idea to try. It works for me as well as the one below.. Good luck! Love your videos!!!

Hi! When making a summer hat, you should measure the circumference of your head, divide that number by π and that will give you the diameter of the initial "disk" for the hat, that way you'll avoid making your projects the wrong size

I was overworking my brain trying to make this myself and then came across this tutorial, this was exactly what i was trying to make and thank you for the 10dc at the beginning tip, I would've done it with 12 too. Made mine with Lily sugar n cream cotton yarn and a 5mm hook and it turned out amazing! Will make myself another one in another color
