Neil Diamond - Hello Again from The.Jazz.Singer (1980)

The Jazz Singer is the film that changed my life. I watched it with my husband around Christmas 1985, two years after we started buying our first home. At the time, he said we should wait 3 years before trying for a family. As I expected to stop working if we had a child - maybe until they started school - I thought it only fair wait. So when I started to get broody after a short time, I hid my feelings. Or at least I did until the beach scene in the Jazz singer where Jess Robin sees Molly and the baby. My husband could not help notice my gaze, and suggested we start trying for a baby. About 13 months later , I had a positive pregnancy test.

I reconnected with my first love. We talked and reminisced about is and the first kiss. We both remembered it the same way. What I call our introduction to the original sin. Jay was some 50 years ago. She passed from Covid in Jan. 2022.

I recently discovered Neil Diamond. This song cuts me to the bone about regrets including not telling someone special how I felt about her. I tried to reach out to her with no success.

My Mum always loved Neil Diamond too. My parents played his music while I was growing up. She always said that many had tried to imitate his voice, but no one ever could. This song reminds me of her. She passed in 2013. I still miss her so much too. September Morn was my Dad's favourite.

DANG IT!!! 40 yrs later...I still can't watch that scene without crying!! I pulled it up because Neil is my ALL-TIME favorite performer and I think he was SEXY AF with that full beard and mustache....but it comes at a cost! Inevitable tears and a runny nose.

Same reactions here Scratch. Saw this movie with the woman I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with... My doesn't life have twists & turns... A very nice memory of a good time in my life. We're still friends BTW. The best part was waiting in line. We were at a theater near Camp Pendleton. Marines lined up for another movie & Rocky Horror fans in another. (All dressed up for the show...) I though there was gonna be a huge fight/beating. Didn't happen tho. Another memory that makes me smile.

For all the criticism this film got when it came out I still think it still has some beautiful moments....if they had called it something else other than The Jazz Singer it would never have been compared to the previous versions. Neil Diamond's soundtrack elevated it to another level.

By God. That I see 'him' see, pick up his Son, cuddle him, and they embrace, his Son, pressed between both their hearts. Love. Oh, how I wish. I'm a twin male, we're born 1950. Our father 'shot through' , left our Mother, before our birth. To never be able to look in another man's eyes and say 'Daddy', - it's aweful. Bloody aweful. God Aweful. My two Sons say, 'Dad',-Oh, I treasure it, every time. I Utterly treasure when they say 'Dad.' They make me a Man. God, I love them!.

I was told in my Adult years that I'm part Arab Jew (my Grandad on my Dad's side is Arab Jew like David Beckham) and that he served in the R.A.F as a Glider Pilot, something I'm v proud of. This film is definitely inspirational, I like it a lot. I thought I'd share my story because I thought it relevant, I'm proud of my Dad for having the decency to tell us even though it was, as an Adult.

If you really know Neil you see his true heart ❤️ in this film . It’s about family for the love of Music writing all his music and just all around. For anyone who is interested ya on Amazon Video.. The Hello again hello really got to me I cried like a baby at the end . That some is sacred to my heart it bonded me and my son who now lives in New York and living his dream.. He’s a wonderful artist in every expect he is doing well with all his amazing work.. His office is right beside the Empire State Building. I text Hellos my friend hello he hits the button there he is . I miss him but like Neil on his journey I had to let him go.. and I’m so happy for that. Thank you Neil. Much love
