I know people get on Innova’s case about inconsistent flight numbers, but at the very least when they throw a 6 on the glide you know it’s going to glide. I have around 350’ of distance on golf lines and the Gorgon just flies so much farther than the majority of my discs because of that glide, and my Aero is my furthest flying putter by far.

Anecdotal, but I know of a few people who criticize the flight numbers on their discs when the discs are brought used or have a lot of throws on them. Like, yeah. It changes.

Your tour series sphinx was the MVP this past weekend for me at my tournament. Fileting lines in the woods and just gliding down the fairway for days. Highly recommended it to multiple people asking what i was throwing after they saw its beautiful flight 😁

This disc totally seemed like a 10 speed Sphinx when watching other reviews. I just like my Sphinx’s so much that I wouldn’t need the Gorgon.

I bought a gorgon and a sphinx from infinite earlier this week. Played two rounds so far with both and the gorgon is just so unpredictable for me. The sphinx is more like my sidewinder with that reliable stability. My max distance is ~400ft on a good day so I had really high hopes for the gorgon but I don’t think it’s for me.

@@BodanzaDiscGolf If I had a disc company driver disc with 8 glide it better have dome like a very domed Shark or a higher domed Skeeter, possibly making as a 180 gram diameter disc for more space underneath for more glide.

Love the reviews but i think u should adjust the rules to ctp gets birdie and the rest get bogie so putting isn't deciding the disc scores the actual discs are... Or some kind of combination of scores i dunno exactly how but something that the discs have more impact on score rather than putting... Something to think about Have a good 1 brother

Plastic difference between Halo and Pro is going to make a difference. You also threw less confident with the Gorgons which made a lot of angle differences.

Gorgon has the largest Disc diameter and rim width of the 3 discs. Based on the Disc’s Rim diameter and Rim width/thickness dimensions the Gorgon should have the most distance potential if thrown with the correct angle,speed,torque and spin.

Aztec and Gorgon are very similar in listed dimensions and are more similar than they are to the Sphinx or TD. Out of the 8 dimension measurements listed on PDGA’s disc approval site only 3 are different. And not that different. Rim Height: Gorgon 1.6 Aztec 1.5 Rim configuration/sharpness of outside rim: Gorgon 34.75 Aztec 33 cm Flexibility: Gorgon 10.11 Aztec 10.80

I found a G blend sphinx with no number on it a week or two ago. It’s quickly became one of my favorite discs. My wife has claimed it tho, as she can nearly effortlessly throw it 300’ which is 100’ more than any other disc she has lol. With that being said, I want to order myself a new one. Which would you guys recommend? Plastic wise.

@@Anticidal25901 most stable are my TS halos, least stable are the I blend which tend to be flattest If you’re looking for a backup or replacement of that one, I blends are probably the way to go and are cheapest too!

Gorgon has a listed Rim width/thickness of 2.1 and the TD and Sphinx has a listed Rim width/thickness of 1.9

Is the Sphinx more stable in the halo plastic? I have the pink metal flake run you did, and it’s pretty stable compared to my old I-blend I think it was.

On this episode of "Flight Numbers Don't Matter"... I do truly think Innova has the most awkward flight numbers for any manufacturer because they supposedly only put their numbers up as comparisons to their other discs, and the only discs it falls between at 10 are the Beast and the -Monarch-... Weird. Think I'll stay with my metal-c flake and tour series sphinx. :)

@@nomad182 Dave Dunipace has already said that you can’t compare flight numbers to discs with different speeds. He intended for the flight numbers to be compared with those of the same speed. I.E. comparing a PD to an Aztec to a Beast.

We have similar power and I have a blue gorgon. Mine is super angle sensitive but much straighter than yours on a hyzer flip.

For the Gorgons I picked up - the slot they overlap with is “flippy roadrunner”. I also really wanted to like this disc, but why would I throw these when I trust my 3 already beat in champ roadrunners a lot more and they have basically the same flight. Can’t even imagine how these will fly when they get more beat. Maxed at 380’ on a distance throw with maybe 10 reps in a field…really struggled to find the angles. I can actually see them for the absolute beginner that needs a longer turning distance driver…but does a beginner even need that disc /shot?

You're throwing 480ft, while evaluating a disc that's considered "good for beginners" because it's flippy. No wonder it's not your cup of tea. Imagine how flippy it would be at sea level.

Good for thought, no one has a fully beat in gorgon yet. I got mine early, throw them constantly and the flight is still changing. Love that glide though.

@@WillEnj0y I've thrown a Gorgon, it's definitely not a -5 turn like the Mamba. It is however a 10 speed, so if you put 12-13 power on it, it'll flip up or over harder. That was kinda my point. I suspect it would be a good driver for those driving in the 350ft range, more than those in the 450+ft range.

There's no need for this disc IMO. Very few 'pros' will bag this outside of maybe a roller disc. The majority of AMS won't be able to make this fly any different than the average Star Valkyrie. And the Valkyrie held the distance record for almost a decade... so the Gorgon is unnecessary. Just get a Valk.

@@Hyzerwyzer Going to disagree. When you get a similar dome star valk vs a star gorgon... they're very very similar, especially for anyone throwing under 4-450. And if the Valk came out today, it'd have a 5 glide. It's pretty much the most 'made up' number of all the flight #s.

My old TD has no micro bread, but looks similar otherwise. I've been bagging one 10yrs. *edit : after close inspection my TD has some tiny blip on the bottom, & maybe in 2012 it was actually the same as this gore gone I just got.*

I've had a couple of flippy Aztecs out of the box, but most I've gotten have been more stable than a new C-line CD1, definitely more stable than an ERA, like pretty much the same as a new roman. In the end the lack of consistency in the Aztecs drove me to the Roman/PD. That said a broken in i-blend aztec is the only disc I've ever broken 500ft with.

@@jaredselby9952 They miss-printed one run with the wrong numbers but I've had several aztecs, iblend and sparkle glow. 1 of the iblends and one of the glow were strait/flippy out of the box the rest were pretty stable until pretty beat. (i throw golf lines 375--400 ft ). Basically i dropped them cause of the inconsistency. Now use the Roman/PD

@@BodanzaDiscGolf Anthony, I think having the Sphinx in the comparison was great, as it a competitor to the Gorgon. I know you are also very proud of those TS discs, as you should be. People coming to that video, like me, are interested in the Gorgon, so they expect a singular review of the Gorgon or an unbiased matchup with other similar discs on behalf of Infinite. You did exactly this. The only critique is that your pride regarding your Sphinx came across as a promotion. You may have missed the opportunity to promote four different discs, focusing on the strong points of each, in your zeal to express your love for the Sphinx. I watch a lot of your stuff, and I had not really seen that from you in the past. Thanks for doing what you do, and I wish you good fortune.
