MK Logic Plus Rapid Fix 13A Sockets - Are they any good?

MK Logic Plus Rapid Fix 13A Sockets. I like them but would like to see switches and other accesories use the same connectors. I'd also like to see the socket come in two parts, the wireing centre that then plug into the faceplate so you can complete first fix and test and then clip on after decorating

Thanks for pointing out the lack of a 4th CPC terminal. I've started using these sockets and I do like to make the back box CPC connection. For a spur I used the back box terminal to join the spur CPC and the link conductor back to the socket but it's not ideal. If there is sufficient length available on the spur CPC it can be left uncut, sleeved, folded double, inserted into the back box connector then sleeved again before connecting to the screwless terminal on the socket. The lack of a 4th CPC connector is a design flaw in my opinion.

I switched back to Tue standard screw time for the last job, wow it was noticeable how much more time it took up. As I've mentioned before it would be great if you could terminate all your connections with leaver connectors and add the socket later. This way you can keep the new faceplates safe till after decorating but still be able to do all your tests, V2. I read light switches are coming

Nice product review and I like your suggestion about the clip in feature for the future and also tip about the bag. It looks a vast improvement on the old screw types.

Thanks for the positive comment, wasn't sure I got the concept across but it would make terminating and testing easy as well as follow up trades to decorate and seconcond fix. There could be a range of temp accessories to make safe and or functional before clipping on the final face plate at the ens of the job. Cahnging the face plates after also becomes a safeer consumer job not requireing re testing or certification potentually. Come on MK lets see some inovation and change how we install

In 2023, the UK still hasn't got around the idea of a faceplate (removable) over a backplate, and still insist with the idea of an all-in-one socket fixing. The funny thing is that this designed has been superseded by at least 30/40 years everywhere else in the world.

They are available but you are right, there is no standard and each manufacturer has their own design. But don't you think the UK plug design is not the safest?

@@bodgeitwithbrian the plug itself is probably out there with the german one in term of safety, but is leaner. However, tradesmen in the UK are generally very poor, so that makes for very unsafe electrics anyway

Lever terms good idea ...but not proven yet...too easy to flip up the lever .. should have been designed for lever to close flush,,flat

The levers are actually quite stiff, they are never lifting by mistake, however the CPC being a bit thinner loves to pop out. I've gone back to the stew type. Instantly noticed how how quick the rapid fix are to fit
