*Buddhism teaches us to be present and accept things as they are. 🌸 It's about finding contentment in the moment. ☯*

Sleep is the time for our bodies, particularly our brain, to rest and repair.

I agree, being sleep deprived is not healthy, your body needs sleep to heal and replenish your cells. Going to bed very late is not good either, early to bed and early to rise ,that is what we were told by Grandparents.

There is up to a point we can keep our body healthy and, after which no matter how we try and work, the body will break down naturally. The Buddha in a number of his discourses clearly stated that aging (meaning declining health), illness and death are inescapable facts of life. Even the Buddha cannot escape these truths.

This meditation is the best meditation. In our busy life's, we forget to go out & spend some time in nature.

The more important question is: what do we do when we spent time in nature?

First think about beauty of nature , then think about who created that nature and why, when you will start , things will come in your mind what to think.

Buddhist monks are spiritual practitioners in the Buddhist tradition who devote their lives to attaining enlightenment and guiding others towards a deeper understanding of life and truth. Meditation is a crucial aspect of Buddhist religious practice, and these monks often spend a significant amount of time meditating to achieve a profound understanding of reality.

Monks that lived hundreds of years and wander the Himalayas without clothing.. really. Buddha said to question what you don't understand , I certainly question this. Cannot be proven of that I'm sure 🤔

I agree with you, we need critical thinking to question it. It help us make informed choices, understand complex issues, and meet the challenges of an increasingly information-rich and connected world@@georgediamond5309

A simple question. Has anyone recorded or documented anyone living beyond 150 years not to mention thousands of years in the Himalayas? Yes, no doubt meditation helps in the development of mental health but as to physical health there are limits governed by the law of nature.

So...all the people in the world should become a monk by doing meditation everyday. This is only another religion or beliefs to control your life. Though no disease but cannot escape from death .

If you were a monk living quietly in the Himalayas, I thought of what you probably would not do - by comparison to our common western style lifestyle. He probably would not....spend tons of time on a mobile phone or digital device.....eat tons of highly processed or fast food....eat tons of sweets, sugar or alcohol.....get plenty of active exercise...ignore nature and the environment.....spend so much time being so concerned about everyone else's problems and situations...be involved in much gossip....be exposed to much toxicity and pollution in their surroundings....drink a lot of chemical infused water....be lounge lizards....look at the world with disgust disdain or despair....body shame themselves or others...sacrifice themselves to the whims of others....do recreational drugs....stay in relationships they detest or dislike....constantly be under pressure to meet other people's expectations.... Just in a few minutes, they would probably be some things they would not do or be. Food for thought for us who find ourselves in the midst of common western style cultures and traditions and lifestyles...

@elisachin9330 Thank you too. I'm not throwing shade onto the Buddhist monk in the Himalayas. I'm saying that if we looked at things he probably woukd NOT do or be, then we might look at what we can do in our reality and circumstances , in our common western--style lifestyles, cultures and conditions.
