The engines sound like PW4000s. Are they? To analogize the power, I like to imagine a two-wide team of 100,000 horses pulling it down the runway.

As a new pilot in training, I can't help it but to appreciate how fortunate we are. We all need to hear what this man has to say. Let me translate for him: "Thank you for letting me see the real cockpit. I dreamed to be a pilot, but unfortunately I'm deaf. I can only watch your video in solitude and silence...Although I cannot hear, I can be a passenger. Sincere thanks."

lake fire My first flight was in the infamous Douglas DC-10. That was right around the time (80's) when the DC-10 had a bad reputation for having the engines fall off in mid flight. When the plane taxied to the gate in Salt Lake City Utah, my brother said he was watching and commented on how bad a shape that plane looked pulling up. But I'm glad I got to fly in a DC-10. Poor old plane.. it wasn't her fault! :) I wish I had the pleasure of flying in a B747. That's my favorite airline jet!

David Gans I love how people always say pilots have a big responsibility. yeah of course they should know how to control the plane and all that basic stuff that are required from pilots. But if the plane totally malfunction there's not really much they can do other that to try their best to get the plane back in control. Usually when planes crash it's not the pilots fault. It's the plane that is broken somehow.

Absolutely awesome video! The pilot looked like he was flying on manual for a substantial period of time....longer than I thought he would. Also, he was at like 290 knots at 7000 feet!?......apparently the 250 knots under 10000 feet rule does not apply in all situations or regions of the world........interesting.

I believe this is the V10 SIKOU of VHHH so its climb to 5000ft intial and with speed restriction of 220 kias unil waypoint RAMEN, the 250 knot rule does apply but at times planes are given no speed restriction after the right hand turn at PORPA.

Andy YCY Right, "delete airspeed restriction" sometimes right after take off in some regions, depends on how busy they are.

turbofanlover Maybe they had a special clearance for 290 knots.

turbofanlover sometimes aircraft with the "heavy" suffix (generally any 767 or larger aircraft) are allowed to, but he used a thrust limit and makes me wonder why did he?
