This is really phenomenal. I'm glad you stuck with it to give us this video. I really like how you've been bookmarking your videos - it makes it easier to follow along in my sim when I know I can just rewind to the part I'm working on!

I like bookmarks too. Once I figured out how to do them it was so easy. I hope these videos get spread around like wildfire. Accuracy and proper terminology are very important to me. I am glad you like them.

I don’t. I did a video on takeoff and climb out in the 787 which focuses on swept wing jet aircraft.

How do I set the frequency and course into the NAV system? I tried landing the 747 only using the FMC selecting the ILS approach, but the glide slope and the localizer do not apear and the button cannot be clicked. I thought the frequency and course would automaticaly be selected after you enter the information in the FMC, but for me it doesn,t work this way. Great video by the way, it helped me intercept the initial approach fix (IAF), but from the IAF to the RNY I am having this problem.

If the ILS approach is loaded in the FMC, the LOC frequency does display under the ILS section of the NAV RADIO page. From that point, press APP on the flight guidance panel and the AP will capture and fly the LOC and GS to the runway. The LOC frequency can be placed in VOR L or R, but only DME is displayed along with the localizer identifier. If using an add-on airport, ILS approaches have been known to not work. I just tried an ILS approach. Loading the frequency into the ILS position of the NAV RADIO page did not work as you stated. I was able to load the approach and the localizer frequency displayed under ILS on the NAV RADIO page and the approach worked as expected.

Unfortunately, once the video has been made it cannot be changed. The ILS approach set up will be the same regardless of departure point or destination. Did you have a particular question about the FMC setup?

Man the autopilot ALWAYS deviates horribly from G/S when I do these. It’ll follow for like 30 seconds and then do whatever the heck it wants after that. Appreciate your videos though, they’ve helped me a lot!

It is definitely working a lot better now. Believe it or not, I have been working on this tutorial off and on for the last 2 days. The GS not capturing was aggravating. I tried it once today and it worked great. I was stoked! Remember to not be fast, and know what will happen next and make sure you're in the right mode on the FMA. That's why I point that stuff out ... i.e. the next thing we're going to see is ....

I honestly can’t remember if the frequency has to be entered in that FMC or not. It is entered in the tune page. Some FMS/FMCs will auto tune the localizer frequency when the approach is selected.

Did you disengage AP before touch down?

Yes. You should see the AP go away on the flight mode annunciator before landing.

Does the Arm Spoilers work once plane has touched down & depoly speedbrajes?

It should if there is a key bind activated. Look for the binding called SET AUTO SPOILERS ARMING and bind a key. I used it all the time in FSX but it apparently needs to be set up in FS2020 and does not have the same default binding as FSX did.

Arm speed brakes?

A key bind may have to be set to arm the speed brakes.

I have yet the fly the 747. But right now when I try to program an approach the AC breaks left and starts flying circles and won't follow my GPS flight plan.

I suggest programming the approach on the ground. Make sure you have LNAV selected. You can also select HDG and fly toward the FMS course (the pink line on the NAV Display) and when you get close, select LNAV.
