I was clearly on the move, relocating, and the arty fired his shot BEFORE I knocked down any trees near where he fired. His shot was not even fired in the direction the trees were falling even if he somehow did see it. It was blind luck negating good play, that's all arty ever does in this game. Arty destroys this game, negates skill, and ruins the fun for everybody. I said "fuck you" to the arty because he deserves it for contributing to the cancer of this game that is artillery, and I would say it again. And even if you truly believe that shot was justified, it doesn't make it any less of a problem as the ability to drop a shell on somebody across the map, spotted or not, with no way of countering them, is a horrible concept and it ruins the game.

@@stevie2146 You knocked over 2 trees at 1:22. The shell hits at 1:25. That's more than enough time for him to have seen your treefall, fired, and have shell impact. If he was pre aiming at the tree line because he knew you'd go in there for cover knocking em all down, he was not taking a blind shot. He got you dead to rights when you hit those 2 trees.

I looked back over it and I would agree that it's possible for him to have seen it, fired etc, but I would be far from saying it was "more than enough time". He could only have seen the first tree fall and it is very likely he shot instantly after seeing that, given the shell timing, and he was lucky to hit me directly. Still doesn't change the fact that arty ruins this game though

Well, it's somewhat ironic that this was a twat-standoff... The WZs are from a cluster of german clans (the "Garde"), which are the pure definiton of toxic kids: Raging, TKs, etc. It has gotten so worse that one of their clantags (basically everything that ends with "__G") in your history basically nullifies your chances of ever getting in a good clan. (Oh, did i mention that they where involved in a series of rigging battles by buying unicums to play with their accounts in CW a few years back?)

With as hard as it is to counter battery these days, you have to know that arty is most likely eyeballing the obvious camping spots, since the number of good counter battery players is small. Then you knock over so many trees that it almost makes them think there are several people doing it, so why wouldn't he drop a bomb there? Guy knows how to use the vehicle, but clearly has a lot to learn about avoiding unnecessary attention at the start of a battle in a tank that is basically a piñata with a gun sticking out of it.

The number of shells being unchanged is just WG being lazy. However the Germans did originally plan to upgun the KanJpz with the 105mm. They simply chose to develop a better tank instead of furthering upgrades on a dead end.

I’d like to see gold rounds do little or no HP damage, but would guarantee a crit module hit, thus actually requiring knowledge of tanks weakpoints inside and out. Plus it would make safe stowage more relevant, and CO2 filled tanks, suspension upgrades, preventative maintenance, etc more relevant.

Yeah, he's one of Those kind of players. Knocks a million trees down in an obvious camping spot and then bitches about arty. Then drives in front or behind a friendly tank blocking him, stays too long on the side where nobody is spotting, and continuously shoots at the sloped turrets of heavy tanks giving away his location in return for a ricochet. He stepped up at the end, but gawd, the start was cringey.

Comparing this to the Kanonenjagdpanzer 90 is not as black and white as you make it sound. At least in my opinion. The 90 has waaaay higher DPM [2,887 vs 2,412 when fully kitted out] (the 105s DPM is actually the worst of every non autoloading T8 TD) and the 238mm of AP pen is fairly decent. Of course the 105 is better at taking apart T10 heavy tanks, but the 90 excells at vapourizing not so heavily armoured targets and is in fact way better against them than the 105.

The problem is that the 90mm's theoretical DPM falls apart whenever you have face Tier 10 heavies that it's literally incapable of doing damage to. And quite a few other Tier 9 or 10 tanks that it has very limited ability to damage.
