I just had a draw last month, when our Cleveland decided to fire instead of staying undetected and get sunk. We had equal caps, points lead and had a very hard fight to gain it, when we finally managed to get the lead, ships started to sink in rapid succession. Still we could get it back and then we were happy as hell to get the draw as the enemy team got their points directly after us, keeping the lead always for several seconds. So when the time runs off we had just got the draw. Only 1 or 2 seconds later it would have been a loss.

The closest game I personally experienced was a painful one: we were ahead by points with about 15 seconds or so remaining, and the only way the enemy team would win is if they manage to sink one of ours, so naturally all of our remaining ships disengaged and sailed away from the enemy at top speed ...that is, every single one EXCEPT our CV. Throughout the entire game, our CV was anchored at the edge of the map not moving at all. But for some bizarre reason, once everyone in team chat started yelling “Sail away! Saul away! Don’t get sunk!” It was at that point when our CV started to move TOWARDS the middle of the map. At that point, none of the enemy ships are close enough to see any of us. The only one in their team that might realistically still be able to do something would be the enemy CV’s torpedo bombers which were now desperately zig-zagging in all directions, trying to locate anything that he could then try to hit. With about 5 seconds or so remaining, and no thanks to our CV sailing towards the middle of the map during this time, he finally managed to get himself detected by the 2 squads of enemy bombers, which happened to be at a perfect position to do a cross-drop of torpedoes from both sides (this was back in the days of the “old rules” when you can still do such a thing) and our CV detonated as the timer hit zero, and so we lost by points. 🙁

Two guys would start off chasing each other, chase each other into a dead end (normally a short pier or jetty) and start having blow for blow fisty cuffs to see who would drop first - They cut back and forth from this between sketches and they dragged it on a fair bit. Very nice draw. On nearly 8500 random games I’ve done, I got involved in 2 draws only. And yet, both times, it was in a cv (old ones, before 8.0 rework) vs only enemy cv alive as well + not enough time to kill each others or reach the cap and win. So yeah indeed, draw is particularly hard to get. But still I have seen players stats with totally huge amounts of draws (like 80 draw games on 2500 random games played ie, and couple others with some tens draws recorded on some thousands games). Always been suspicious on that, when u have so many draws, it’s probably bcoz u missed plenty of obvious opportunities to win the game I suppose... bcoz it’s particularly rare and hard to get. At least in my XP’s. But it was a nice game. 3secs more and Belfast would have won, nice try.

56 seconds in, and my guess is going to be the team with the extra T8 Cruiser is going to win. (For those confused Belfast has the upgrade slots of a T8, the rate of fire of the British T8, the hull of the British T8, more HP than the British T8, and can spam HE from inside of smoke while still having radar and hydo. It's a better Edinburgh, a tier lower.) Got to the end, and I guess I was wrong, but had the Mahan turned into the bombers sooner on the final drop it likely would have been a win, though I can't blame him, it was a mistake anyone could make. Though until the last 10 seconds I wasn't wrong, the team with the extra T8 was winning.
