In this epi of Thrift Flip, we created a chilled out, music inspired vibe with items all found from the thrift store. We diy'd a gorgeous vinyl record stand out of an old dish rack and took a wooden (thing?) and upcycled it into a beautiful gold crescent moon shelf!

the only problem with that set up is the candle in side the gold d shelve is a fire hazard puttee plant on the inside and the candle on top, other than that its adorable

I was in love with the idea of the dish rack to hold vinyls! So I brought one and spray painted it copper and it looks so cute but I have quite a few vinyls and they are too heavy for it, it’s also not very easy for me to flip through and grab the one I want ;( do you have any other ideas for what the rack could be used for?? x

the duck in Germany the thrift stores are literally a piece of crap. Most of the stuff is broken and the clothes look like they hang there for a million years. Every time I watch this videos I know I can't get those things :( anyway cool video though!

I REALLY thought you were going to put the flat side of that half moon shelf thing against the wall and use it like a planter and have like hanging leaves trail down the outside, that would have been so lit. The candle bit freaked me out.

Hi girls! Unfortunately the vinyl shelf is not ideal for the vinyls because if they stay in that position for a long period of time they will probably end up curvy due to gravity. They should be stored compactly and vertically so they don't lose their shape!

I would rethink burning a real candle inside of the wood shelf. I bet the bottom of the shelf could catch fire from the heat. Otherwise, great job, as always💕

No it can't catch fire, wood only burns if actually ignited, not from heat. But the punctual heat still isn't good for the material, also no idea how the paint reacts, and yes it'd turn black!

one of the coolest ways of storing records that i've found is using an old magazine holder. they're the perfect size, and the actually hold a lot! i found one at a goodwill that had metal ivy vines running along it and it's so gorgeous!

Since I live with roommates, I can’t buy anymore dishes but I’m obsessed with vintage funky mugs and small vintage Pyrex. So I take succulent clippings and crystals and make little plant babies I think I currently have like 20 🌱

The shelf would be more stable if it had a chain in the back as well as the front. The front chain being longer than the back so that when it's placed on the wall, it's balanced. Unless you use it for the ceiling, then the two chain lengths should be equal. I hope this helps. I think it would be more stable this way.

For anyone interested in the vinyl holder!! Ikea does still sell the dish drainer, its called the ordning dish drainer, it's 29.99 here in canada

Marie Bach Not sure about you but when I wash my dishes, I make sure they're free of soapy water before putting them up to dry. Doesn't everyone do this? Or else when you ate off the plates they would taste soapy?? Also sometimes I rinse my dishes just with water before putting them up to dry if I drank/ate something not messy like juice or toast

Not a physics major, but I am an engineering major. To hang the moon shape shelf, you would have had to find the centroid in which would tell you where the equilibrium of the exerted weight would be most bearing.... which you eventually figured out so yay!
