I listen to at least 7 a week I have learned to reserve the audiobooks and can usually get books is within weeks of release. So please talk up your local library as a source for audio books.

I have a tunic with grommets around the neckline and hem. I don’t know what metal the grommets are made of, but they’re not too heavy.
@paulas_lens11 ай бұрын
That open end of the metal tool is to cut the fabric right where you want the hole - no scissors required. Also, if you add a triangle of fabric at each corner, to strengthen the grommet, and sew those triangles into your seams, it will really strengthen the whole piece.
@cindymichaud711111 ай бұрын
Great advice, I wondered about reinforcing that piece! Thanks ❤
@sazennonumber11 ай бұрын
Wow, I had no idea.. that would make the process so much easier. I wonder if it cuts holes out of thicker materials as well?
@shelbyhiromi11 ай бұрын
@@sazennonumber yes it does, because its basically chiseling out the material, so you can do many thick layers at a time. Thats also why there was that strange cut out on the side, so that you can clean out the fabric from the tool. It's kind of like an apple corer, but for fabric
@sazennonumber11 ай бұрын
@@shelbyhiromi So cool! Thank you so much 🙏 Makes me want to buy one and play around with it.
@AnnekeOosterink11 ай бұрын
I would also add, don't cut the holes if you can. Like, with huge grommets it's going to be harder, but if you can use an awl and make a hole without cutting any threads that will make the hole and the fabric much more stable and less likely to fray. If you do cut a hole, try to make sure it's smaller than the grommet. You want a grommet to be able to grab onto the fabric and if the edges of the hole fray the grommet has nothing to grab onto to.
@PreciousMe11 ай бұрын
Great video! I've made the over-the-door supply organizer. It's sturdier if you put a dowel along the top and/or a middle grommet. It will sag with anything heavy. Big Hugs!

A couple of ideas of things you can make using grommets are banners/signs and tote bags. You could use the grommets on a tote bag where the handles would go. Feed the fabric, rope, or whatever you will use as the handle, through the grommet hole and tie off into a knot to secure. The knot could be on the outside for aesthetics. Another idea is to make a tissue box cover and a larger grommet in the middle of the top as the hole where the tissue comes out. I saw a pillow cover that used grommets on the edges of both sides to tie the panel covers together through the grommets and another pillow with a sash going down one side of the pillow with three large grommets as a design feature. Love Your Channel!

I placed grommets on my outdoor pillows to hang on hooks near my back door. The hanging pillows line up horizontally over a bench, providing a lovely back cushion for it, when I’m not using them outdoors. You could add grommets to your patio pillows and perhaps hang them on your garage wall?

I would also recommend iron on interfacing before you cut out the holes to prevent fraying and add even more support to the hole. (or you could add Fray-Check). And, if you pleat between the pockets, it will make them dimensional, like cargo pockets, and they'll hold more.

A project that I used grommets on was a rectangular cover over some storage boxes. Picture a 3d recangle 36"x122"x60" I added two rows of grommets at each end of the tall narrow sides, like a corset. I secured the canvas tarp over the totes like wrapping a present and then tie the ends just like you would a corset using UV parachute cord as it is outside. I get no snow.

I love the bulletin board. Apparently, many people need to organize so that they can see items. A great reminder system. I've never seen the things for hiding screw heads. What a great idea!Although I have no need for it, the hat tree is brilliant! Protects hats and looks good, especially if someone is proud of their collection. The storage panel is a great project and soooo useful! If storing heavy things, maybe put a channel for a dowel at the top and bottom, and if storing bulkier items, make a pocket that's square at the bottom. I love the idea of using a canvas drop sheet! You could paint or stencil this project too, or use patterned fabric as a second layer or ticking.

Hey Kelse, LOVE learning about this new material to use as a base!! I'd like to suggest the addition of some wall pockets to it though too, so you can tuck in receipts, group papers, etc. and MAXIMIZE the surface area. Have you thought of that? Just cup up another sack. You can easily use hot glue, (and your trusty stapler on one side 'blind' then fold over, so you can't see staples). You might wanna duck tape the fabric on the back-you didn't have much clearance there. Way to rock this project! P.S. Please tell Rachel to bring back her eyebrows. 😉
