Was a true nightmare to complete. Was doing it on hard and watched someone do it on Titan difficulty to get som tips and I couldn't see any difference with the amount of units bombarding you. I managed to do it after walling off some sections and forcing them through a chokepoint but damn it was hard. The only other mission I felt was almost impossible was Fall of the Trident 30: All is not Lost where the timer felt too short for the amount of units that attacked you. Had to cheese it and delayed the timer for 6 min by building a village center instead of a settlement at the start. Those two missions difficulty was not in line with any other mission in the whole campaign.

Im a bit sad they nerfed the mission, yes it was super challenging on titan and cost me 2 hours and 4-5 trys but it was so satisfying to beat it, people who struggle can always lower difficulty

@@Crosmando My idea for Lush would be for it not to affect your movement speed at all, but to reduce the enemy's by say 15% or something, and maybe also slightly heal your units and buildings on it. That would make it an effective defensive network. Currently it's... kinda useless.

DPS means damage per second (damage divided by rate of fire) so if the time between attacks is faster but the damage stays the same, the DPS increases.

@@fgorn Basically. The amount of attacks and size of attacks and directions of attacks felt disproportional to pretty much every other mission. You get attacked from pretty much all sides instead of like, 1 or two (bit more manageable if you immediately destroy the two mummy temples on your side) and the amount of myth, priest and elephant spam was insane.

@@fgorn Constant attacks AND the fact all the gold on the map is so far away from your base, which forces you to spread out your army and make it hard to be ready when the attack waves start including eles and stuff like that. This resulted in a mission that is like 3 times as hard as the mission right before it and much harder than the ones that follow.

I like that the devs are taking some big swings Before the patch I was on a 10 game winning streak with posiedon going through Ares for a 1 based cyclops timing attack. They were great before the patch, but oh my they will be potent now

I'm curious as to what you guys feel is most broken about Odin? Like I feel as if he's a really good well rounded god but doesn't necessarily have any obnoxious cheese. like, mass centaurs melting armies with aoe, mass hades archers being impossible to take out even with counter units, minotaur rush being near impossible to defend against with some gods, set god power abuse (tbh i would much rather face set, I feel like he's beatable if you outplay him, as opposed to a lot of greek strats that involve braindead massing up unbeatable units). Curious to hear people's thoughts.

60% winrate in top 100 ladder with a huge play rate. Won't even develop, you just have to play against to feel the pain.

10% food rate gathet bonus is crazy good, plus great hunt means that he gathers food faster and he can spend more time in his base. More favor means more myth units, Freya is an obvious choice as valkyries gost food and favor so you can get a lot of them. Njord mountain giants are also insanely good, they synergize with odin for the same reason. Regen on human units allows you to raid very effectively. Two respawning ravens means odin will always know what you're doing and where your villagers are, this gives him free info and easy raiding. All of the bonuses combine to make him one of if not the best god at the top of the ladder.

They have basically everything they need to be great. Great early game eco with cheap reusable great hunt and faster gather rate, great minor gods (Heimdal and Njord are amazing in Retold), great hall units are amazing in general, free air scouts, the passive healing helps quite a lot if you consider the fact it applies to so many units even passively (don't have to stand still like before retold).

@@DoinkertonGreeble I think it is just his synergy skadi. turns out having 20% extra food, 10% extra wood and 10% extra gold makes you a incredibly strong god. the extra resources really adds up for Odin. it makes his heroic age raiding stronger meaning that your more likely to fall behind vs him and it also allows him to get to ages sooner then other players which if you picked ragnerok, that is almost game-ending power when you use it and opponent is in heroic age. they did nerf ragnerok a little bit so Odin did get a bit of change.

'cause they're genuinely OP when spammed. In late game, pretty much all you need is an army of these guys and you pretty much win. Their damage to buildings was insane.

There are some things I personally dont agree with: 1) Chemira nerf definitly wasnt needed imo. The upgrade should give them HP again. Artemis as a whole isnt that strong when comparing to hephaestus / hera. 2) Hypaspist still a bit too strong. 3) Axeman: Bonus vs Infantry increased from 4x → 5x not needed imo. (I dont like the shift into excessive counter-bonuses) 4) Centimanus nerf to heroes AND MUS is not understandable. Special does like ZERO damage vs MUS now. They need a 100% multi vs them now. Very slow myth that isnt even that tanky and easy to focus down... why nerf him besides the special? (I dont like making Myth units omega trash vs heroes, same with chemira.) 5) Fanatic`s are still a tiny bit too weak. Probably still need + 0.5 damage and/or 10% more pierce res. You could nerf the atlas tech as compensation. In general MU`s beeing a bit on the OP side is fine, we are playing Age Of Mythology afterall, so they should be the (main) focus. Otherwhise most changes are very good and make a lot of sense!

I totally agree with not wanting excessive counter units. I think the hard cap should be maybe 3x. If it needs any more than that, units should get stats as compensation. The rock paper scissors design is nice to add some interactions in gameplay, but when it is quite literally rock paper scissors because the units are worthless outside of their counters, it's kinda lame. I've also been confused why we even have counter damage outside of myth units and heroes. We already have hack/pierce/crush armor, why do we need another damage type system?

Mirror Tower should deal less damage, but the damage type should be changed to Divine. The precedent has already been set that sunlight beams deal Divine damage, look at the Petsobek (Egyptian Crocodile Myth unit).

did chemira hades really need nerf? like Artemis is not that good of a god because you back in all strength on the myth unit and earthquake and you give up lots of resources from heph to use it. i think it was fair niche for Hades to make good use out of Artemis since poseidon isn't that great with it. i guess we'll see how badly special attack divine damage is but i think that change might make it a bad choice even for Hades. I can get behind Hypaspist change 1.1 ->1.2 attackspeed because they're trying balance greek early game vs egypt though honestly, i think the problem was more that axeman/slinger/spearman were a bit weak more so then greek being too good.

Agree with you. Chimera is too weak now IMO. Centimanus nerf is too much as well. Special damage vs other MU is basically 0 now plus they are worse vs heroes too. Centimanus are super slow, so i dont think its a probalem if they deal good damage too. They probably need like 50% more damage vs other MU. Also think that Hypaspists are still too strong. They shouldnt beat Fanatics in the 1v1. They sadly still do.

playing as RA summary: you need to be allways two steps ahead, but without scouting ofc. If you have priest, forget to use him on empowering, you will be rushed by myth units anyway and this is your single and only way how to defend it (thats why they nerfed priests, to make playing on hardcore mode even more immersive). 👏

It's not compeltely removed, it's still available for play and will still see play in Redbull wololo if not other competitions as well but to be honest, right now at the top level, the map is just not interesting. We need some balance updates around the water myth units and godpowers and then it can possibly come back into rotation. :)

Mission 18 has been nerfed into the ground - it used to be hard, now it's a walk in the park quite literally, less mummies, less enemies, less attacks, it's a little bit too easy now, I had to actually check and make sure I was on Titan difficulty and not accidentally on Easy mode, is how easy it has become.

These changes help make him a bit more skilled since u'd need to micro the ravens more if they are low vision instead of auto scouting until u approach the enemy base. The longhouse is also a bit too much better than the barracks

@@youtube-kit9450 I disagree kinda, each of the 3 sections of the campaign should have its own difficulty curve, with the last egyptian mission being more difficult that the first norse one, for example. it is true that far from home was way too difficult, but it is towards the end of the egyptian campaign, so it's not that crazy

So, we don't need to worry since it's a super late game strat for a pantheon notorious for having a bad early game and struggle generating favour so both arriving at Centimanus and having the resources to spam it are super difficult to achieve. Meaning if you somehow get to that point, you should have broken stuff.
