@@harshwardhanmishra3743 yes I agree to an extent - both the languages are beautiful and slightly overtakes one another depending on the context and intonation. After all these languages share similar eastern roots with Maithili even predating Bengali. Mithila used to be an important place in History like many other places in Bihar; sad to see the step down and looks like Bengal is keen on following. There was cultural ties too in the region currently falling under Bengal and North Bihar. Bengali however somewhere in history overtook Maithili in sophistication and in literary output. Bengali has its strength for now, I wish North Biharis retain their language and not fall like other regions in the North/Central India or even Bihar. Learning and speaking Hindi is fine until it is used as an instrument to kill another language in the name of national integration
