Hello from Oklahoma! Its been awhile since I've commented. Haters gonna hate. If these bozos had ever gotten out in the woods and done anything. They would know. No matter what kind of knife you're carrying, you take care of it and utilize the tool for what it is. Not try to tear it up. These are the same bozos that you hand a shovel, ask them to dig and 5 minutes later the shovel handles broken. Thanks for all you do! Its good stuff! God Bless!

Bryan, as usual a well done video. Very interesting big knife. This has been a very engaging series. I agree with you, anything can be destroyed, IMHO it is much better to show how well knives do at the tasks we would actually ask them to accomplish. I appreciate you fast forwarding through the chopping portion but suggest it may be of some value to tell your viewers how long it took to get through the stick. Just FYI. As we’ve discussed over the years i’ve owned 3 Chris Reeve hollow handled knives (all purchased decades ago when prices were reasonably affordable) and still own one. When I purchased my first one Chris told me he would warranty all these knives against breakage due to manufacturing defect. The only exception I recall was that Chris said his knives were not meant as throwing and if I broke it while throwing he would replace it on my dime. If I remember correctly this had to due with the the knives were tempered in the manufacturing process.

That knife looks like a winner! What I don't understand is why all these knifemakers don't include a pouch on the sheath for a sharpening stone if they want to call it a true survival knife? many moons ago when Rambo First Blood came out, I ordered the copy of that knife, was very disappointed that it didn't match the movie sheath! if you look closely in the movie, you'll notice the sheath had a sharpening stone pouch. That's one main reason I bought an Ontario 499 Air Force survival knife because it included one. The Boker knife looks awesome, but yet again why couldn't they have added a stone pouch on the sheath??!! would that honestly bring the price up so much?? sorry but it aggravates the hell out of me. All of my favorite knives, some a lot more expensive than others also didn't include a stone pouch. I had to order custom sheaths that cost as much the knife or more!! Sick of it! sorry for my ranting.

I think the statements made on the Harbor freight knife about you needing to sharpen the knife before use is a little ridiculous. A knife’s primary function is to cut things so I think having an expectation that a knife freshly out of the box should at least have a decently sharp edge is valid. It doesn’t have to be as sharp as it possible can be but it needs to be sharp enough for use.

After the review of the Harbor Freight knife and thought what the heck I’ve got some loose change and bought one. After some sharpening and a dab of epoxy to the tang I did some normal camp chores with it and it’s still together and not loose even after a spin test or three. I still wouldn’t trust the compass for orienteering but otherwise it seems serviceable.
