sir can I please ask you what you think is the best stropping material to go with Diamond Compounds? Would it be Nanocloth? or Kangaroo leather? or Cowhide? or Balsa Wood or Basswood?

@@CSGraves yeah :( but its more of a general recommendation rather than a fully thought through advice. theres a lot of factors to make the final decision

@CSGraves your skill level doesn't validate advice. There's many factors you're probably not even aware of since you'll just take general advice and run with it. Micro convexity, hardness and it's ability to present diamond compound. Durability, flatness. Materials other than nano cloth might have abrasive qualities themselves that are higher than .25 microns which nullify using diamond compound above .25 microns where as nanocloth is non abrasive. Texture, an even texture may improve consistency. Leather type, vegged tanned? Kangaroo? Bovine? Cordogan? Horsehide? Full grained?. What about other materials? Mdf? Basswood? Balsa? Denim? Linen? Canvas? Cardboard? Newspaper?

@@lvl18abilities then it might be better to state the desired properties and application specifically in the initial question. You mentioned diamond compound and a few common stropping materials, but didn't mention what you'll be stropping (straight razors, plane irons, knives, axes?) or the materials you'll be using the blades on. What is 'best' for one tool and application may not be for another.
