The current difference between Forrester and Spectra. At Forrester their designer Ridge already had left, had been at home to stare out into the night while talking to his brother Thorne, then went to see his daughter and interrupt Brooke's dinner date with James at her apartment, Sheila felt safe enough that late to walk the FC hall in lingerie at night to seduce her husband in the office....... . While at Spectra everyone is still in full working mode.

Reminder to self and possibly to others: Gossiping about love life at the office is a recipe for disaster. Better to protect your personal space and setting clear boundaries at work to maintain office social dynamics. With that said, never go to Spectra fashions just to stir up shiznitty convos about someone's love life just like what Connor did instead of focusing on being an attorney and representing someone else but it's soap.

LOL, Macy opening the door to Anthony's office and having an awkward reaction to what she finds in there is becoming a running gag at this point. 😂 This is the third time in only a handful of episodes. First it was the embrace between Sally and Anthony that she walked in on, then it was the fitting with Barbara, and now she stormed in there ready for a serious talk only to find the wrong person there.

Yes more interesting, but not practical given that there is the proverbial 'man shortage', so female usually find themselves in that position. The triangle occurs any which way, but the writers opted for a more realistic stance in this instance. 😂

_self-confidence is attractive in men and women_ James plays it safe and shows *confidence* when he invites Brooke's former lover/ baby-daddy to stay and have dinner with them - and later James is back to *insecurity* and brings up the same topic again that they had before Ridge's appearance, that they talked about on the balcony after Taylor's death..... "Brooke, where do I stand with you, now that Ridge is again available?".

He isn't wrong in asking straight forward questions and have nothing to do with insecurities, remember he was asked by Taylor if he believed that Brooke would stay with uim if Ridge was available and his answer was telling. Brooke says she is falling for James but we heard this one before with Eric, so she can't be trusted in her feelings and James knows it. Things have changed, Ridge is free and everyone knows he will try to find comfort in Brooke, doesn't mean he will stay with her though as it happened before, he chose Taylor.

*WHAT IS BROOKE DOING?* Brooke is trying to create a love triangle with herself as the object of desire (instead of vying with Caroline and Taylor for Ridge). It’s just not believable that after all this time pining away for and obsessing over Ridge that she would choose to be with another guy when her path to Ridge is finally free and clear. She has Ridge’s affection, his child, and even his company! It’s a complete layup for her and yet there must be something deflating and unsatisfying about that, to finally have Ridge but almost by default. Brooke doesn’t want it that way. She wants the big swooping romance: she wants Ridge to pursue and claim her, she wants Ridge to say all the honeyed words she has longed to hear, and she wants the satisfaction of two men fighting over her and she gets to choose between them. She tried this once before with Ridge vs Connor but neither man really played along. This time the setup is better for her: she and Ridge are both unmarried, there is no princess type rival for her to lose to, and James isn’t a convincing romantic lead like Connor - he can be easily swatted away when she needs to write her fairytale ending. I’ve coined the term _fauxmantic heroine_ for Brooke - a woman who delusionally sees herself as the heroine in a romantic drama when she is often actually the antagonist and an unreliable narrator - and here it feels like she’s writing her fairytale love story, which will climax with a big romantic gesture from Ridge (I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it) and a big fairytale wedding. The irony of course is that Brooke is still an Unreliable Narrator who can’t predict the future and so she can’t see what’s coming after the happily ever after. Taylor is still alive, the fairytale marriage will be annulled, and Bridget will be revealed to not be Ridge’s daughter. But for now she gets to indulge her romantic fantasy.
