I personally prefer the Las Fusil because I suck at ammo conservation, plus I love using it to clear lanes of minoris enemies with the penetration

Laz is unequivocally better in every way UNLESS you can't hit your shots, the bolt sniper is more forgiving. I use the Laz primarily for Majoris and Extremis enemies since I have no problem landing headhots on them even with the charge times. Everything else I can handle with my knife (fencing) and bold pistol. I've never had a problem with ammo personally. I pick the relic variants of the Laz and my sidearm that increase ammo since the extra damage boost others can be overcome through the perk tree quite easily.

I use LF cuz it can handle swarm of minoris as well. Combined with Lingering Concealment (you remain hidden 2 more seconds after an attack breaks it), Camo>immediate single swing of melee>headshot combo can keep yourself abuse free 2 second camo all the time and one shot kill most majoris enemies.

I was the one who commented about swapping to the bolt carbine for certain parts of tyranid operations and yes you are correct by what I meant by the parts of the operations, i.e. the weapon pods mark the start of each part. In tight spaces such as the sewer/tunnel sections of Decapitation and Termination, I am practically at melee range most of the time. In these areas, the majoris are usually so close together that any teammate with some sort of AOE whether it's melee, GL or Plasma Incinerator can deal with them with ease. Therefore I prefer the bolt carbine in these areas to help with clearing the space. And in case the majrois call for reinforcement, I can still cloak and dump a full mag on them. I stand by what I said about the Sniper vs LF. the only time I can hit those disc shamens with the LF is if I haven't aggro them yet but once they start moving, trying to hit them with the LF is an absolute pain in the ass. This is why I now stick with the sniper against chaos.

We ran a squad with Tac, Heavy, and LF sniper and we were able to hold the sniper to only 4,500 ranged damage. The charge time was so limiting the sniper couldn’t keep up.

LF is great for Lethal due to DMG and ammo conservation, bolt is good for stagger and assistance but it's really tough since the bolt comes through with the consistency. Having both at relic I now prefer bolt due to Rate of Fire over the charge when things get REALLY hairy lol.

AoE for LF is amazing, but needing to track a disc shaman for instance while charging is painful. The other major contrast is ammo. I don't usually run out with LF...Bolt Sniper however...seem to always need more ammo.

One of the best random snipers that I ran with on lethal Reliquary ran the bolt carbine. I was straight up amazed and he carried that one.

Stalker bolt is the best because it’s the most versatile. It hits hard, good ammo, very mobile

The very last weapon in the game that I took up to relic was the bolt sniper because I hate it (it's a tie between that and the stalker bolter). I just like the feel and power or the LF and I don't find ammo to be as much of an issue with it.

I have three loadouts: Bolt sniper for big targets in large open areas. Las Fusil for a mix of large targets and some minoris or when there are lots of small corridors (like in decapitation bomb section). Stalker Bolt in smaller areas and a focus on crowd control. It also depends a lot on the team, wether it’s already melee focused or not.

I find the LF a lot more accurate and consistent with headshot damage. Bolt sometimes doesn’t register as headshot especially with major tyranids thus needing another shot to get them to die or stagger.

Sniper is my only lvl 1 class. I've got the auto bolt rifle and the stalker to relic on Tactical before I try it. Although I do like precise ranged with Vanguard, sooo. Maybe it won't be too bad

I love playing the game more aggressively. I found using the las fusil with the quicker chargeup version feels like a really nice shotgun kinda thing. And with that one perk its great at clearing little minoris groups, also quickly getting a shot off in the face of a majoris you just stunned is really satisfying (counts for the other sniper too) It was also just great to use from the get go. The bolt sniper was on the otherhand a slug to get leveled up and in my opinion only got good after the buffs and only really on the final tier. Its fun to use as a shotgun quickscoping kinda thing. Both are equally as viable and fun just play wich one you like more.

I started with the bolt sniper for ammo count in PVE, switched to LF immediately saw how much better it is at dealing with hordes, the perk to regain ammo n the trait to regain health when below30% alone make it better

Yeah ive seen people rn melta in that fight... it you zoom around as vanguard to keep all the enemies distracted so your teammates can focus on the objective/boss i could see that being a somewhat good strat. But... lets be honest randoms are probably not doing that lol

I started with sniper and love it, I did a pug on ruthless last night where I cloaked and ran through the crowd of nids, one of my team mates started shouting "where the f**k is the sniper going" I turned and took out all 5 Majors, creating space is the key for this class regardless of weapon, I prefer the bolt just because it feels like a sniper. I did get a "well played sniper" from the guy.

I don't recall there ever being a debate. LF has always been better. That is why Bolt had to be buffed. That said. I am not a Meta andy. I'll finish the mission with whatever grey weapon you pick for me. So whatever is more fun for ya.

Listen LF has crowd control ability and there are perks to speed up the shot. On lethal difficulty there is no better weapon!

charge speed is way too slow even what the perks is still too slow and cannot keep up on ruthless or lethal. Damage , is there , but the charge up just sucks when there's fifteen to twenty majoras on you a hundred minor ones Bolt or Stalker is the way to go

Love sniper class. The LF has more raw power but the charge time (even with perk tree is far too long for me). I primarily use the bolt sniper because I can pretty much quick scope with it and it really only needs one more shot to down majorus than LF. For me, the bolt sniper is the way to go

I like running a marksman build with with stalker bolt specced for headshot damage, for a bit more aggressive mid range gameplay,

They are well balanced aren't they? I'm terrible with snipers so the Las actually helps me. I can get panic freeze on when to pull the trigger with a sniper, the charge makes me commit haha.

Laz fewsill is easily better. Bolt sniper ammo perk is broken and doesn't work if you swap weapons. I like it more but it needs perk rework desperately cause not having ammo refunds on lethal sucks.

Ngl I prefer the carbine I use the extra 2 seconds when Camo cloak breaks and constantly activate camo while or before shooting im almost always invisible

I have ≈ 100 hours with Las Fussil (300 hours total in this game) PvE. And with Las Fussil you CAN one shot majoris on Lethal with a single stealth headshot (yep, 75% works like magic + all perks for damage and command buff for 10% headshot damage, I don't like that "stay still" perk coz you need to be moble). And with Sniper Bolt Rifle you CAN'T get enough damage and buffs with Bolt Sniper Rifle to 1 headshot Majoris on Lethal (with ALL buffs, this is just stupid)... With Las Fusil you can have the best (after Bolt Rifle with grenade launcher ofc, and mb Heavy vs nyds waves) range DPS in the game with that amazing less than 30% hp + 25% charge time (I always run low hp with Emergency Override signature perk). Las Fusil can easily (for me) snipe even that pesky Tzeentch disks goat-morons. And yes, you can abuse the hell out of 2 sec camo delay if you got at headshoting 1-2 regular enemies when you de-cloack. With all charge times you have an amazing 15+15+25% combo = you almost DON'T have charge time at all (0.5-0.7 sec, it is firing faster than sniper rifle). Las Fussil "wide beam" is negligible (3 perks for 30 only), but with top lines of headshot + amo in relic tier - you have 24-26 ammo (if you take +10% amo or 2 sec stay still to damage boost) shots and yes, it's ONE shot stealth kill majoris (even a COUPLE if they are in one spot) even with anmo las fusil. Bolt Sniper CAN not do this even with dmg type. End of discussions, until saber buffs Bolt Sniper...

I think it comes down to how skilled you are because sniper is the highest skill class. The las fusil is better overall bar the charge up time. As I'm not that accurate (and I'm on console) I prefer the bolt shiper. I'd actually take the stalker over both for ammo reasons.

I much prefer the LF even on lethal it can instant kill some majoris and if not it’ll 1 shot them to execution if you have the right perks
