Wonderful scenery and superb sporting birds. I think we should feel sorry for the "do good" brigade. They have never had the pleasure of eating some of the best meat in the world. And as was said organically produced. For me wild duck on a plate as a dinner is heavenly manner, can't be beaten, well perhaps equalled by a venison steak. Food for the gods. Also they miss the great privilege of the smaller wild birds comming to feed, when feeding pheasants on a ride.

Glad you are back out in the field again Dave; super stuff as usual and lots of cracking shots. The points you made about schools and so on are right. The thing is , it is not just the shooting community we should worry about it is the kids who are missing out on the real world. I see that some feel that it is impossible and the cause is lost; but it is not, children take well to the ideas of shooting and looking after the countryside. There is a media bias, but it is not all one way, if every gun makes an effort to take a brace into their child's teacher, prepared ideally, then that is hundreds of thousands each year. Hundreds of thousands of contacts made and our side put. Equally if every gamekeeper tries to get in to a school, just once in his or her career, that can make a difference. When I was teaching we had a keeper friend in to my school and my wife's school: in 2 visits he had shown poults and chicks and talked about his job to over 900 primary school children, with no complaints from parents just interest. Keep it up!

I am an avid bird hunter here in the US. I hunt flushing birds courtesy of my german shorthair pointer. Even so I am throughly impressed by your videos and would love to give the high birds a try. I hunt with a 28 gauge Faust Dea sxs. So I would need equipment change, maybe a 12 bore Italyco. Anyway, great job. And you are one heck of a shot!!

Dave, I know I am a pain in the arse from time to time, but, well shot as usual. You speak volumes for the welfare of shooting and thanks for the Chargot video- sorry Devon was so disappointing (ha ha). But, down here, we are seeing a bad side in commercial shooting. Last week, a novice, but obviousely wealthy newcomer on one drive fired 140 shots for 1 bird, according to his loader. Many of these are guns who are out for a bag, so they can boast later, little knowledge of the sport, and, worst of all ignorance of beaters and pickers up as though they were waiters at the Ritz. As a 66 year old picker up, it hurts to be instructed 'not to talk to the guns'. I would love to meet up one day. Next season I would love to come up to the Yorkshire flatlands, possibly pick up for a day with two flatcoats and have a chat with you. You have the ear of shooting. We must protect the traditions!

Kids are not as dumb as you think, ask simple questions and they respond. Does milk come from a bottle? How did it get there..follow the trail! Trust young people they are the future, guide, stimulate and educate...

Impressive shooting to say the least. As much as i would love to be wrong i dont think we could sway schools as to letting pro fieldsports talks take place. It could work i suppose in the remotest of rural areas where it may still be accepted but as for most places in the uk most of the teaches are kids themselves with the most modern attitudes and ex box addictions and pizza box mealtimes as well as being so multi this multi that except this and except that apart from anything that is traditional or English or natural to being male or female. And dont even bring up guns. The local 21 year old copper who plays to much call of duty could get the wrong idea. Sorry to be cynical but its true. The whole country has turned into a bunch of snowflake libtards that are only accepting to anything weird. I cant even watch Emmerdale farm no more. Again great shooting . ENJOY IT ps.the schools nowadays would rather have someone in to tell kids what drugs are safer than others and who to contact if they think they have a problem rather than tell them not to take them in the 1st place. Trust me its true. Sorry to be so cynical. Great videos mate.

what you say above is absolutely bang on, it will be an up hill battle, but if the shooting bodies do not tackle this now there will be no chance at all in the future. we are fuxxed i'm afraid
