Main reasons why the mod looks better is that not only were the textures handmade instead of AI upscale, but also most of the models were handmade, which is most obvious when you compare the clone troopers from the vanilla game and the mod, and the one from the mod is much more detailed with more polygons.

I've been modding the game for years and the amount of content and maps there are is insane. From Ki Adi Mundi restored lines, to changing the music for the menu, to maps with over 1000 units. There's literally no reason to get the collection.

It's criminal how few people know about the mods that exist for classic Battlefront....in addition to the mods you mentioned, there are also custom Galactic Conquest campaigns including one for the KOTOR era and one for the SWTOR era. There is also a mod that lets you generate your own Galactic Conquest campaigns from over 100 planets and 500 maps (Choose Your Own). There is also a mod that lets you randomize heroes on all maps and lets you pick and choose to add new heroes from the same author of the Choose Your Own Mod. Then you've also got the Battlefront 3 mod. Not only is there no reason to buy the collection, but I'd say there is no reason to even play the EA Battlefront (if you're like me and prefer singleplayer, content for classic Battlefront through mods far exceeds any other Star Wars game except maybe Empire at War and Jedi Academy).

I pray to god that when the next generation of consoles is released it actually gives us access to the game files so we can finally create mods compatible with consoles. I know its an ardous task which could potentially destable games after release (especially when playing online), but just imagine the level of longevity and bug fixing that community mods could reach... It would essentially save games that have been abandoned by their developers as well as make for a stronger more lucratrive gaming community overall. One way they could achieve this is by creating a built in mod store for all/most games... in which players could choose free or even paid community mods that have been reviewed and supported by the respective developers. This would reduce cheating, mod compatible issues for online and even ensure console players that the mods there installing won't damage or break the games or consoles that they are using it for.

There should be a mod that brings back the Kamino Space mission in the campaign. That mission was Scrapped, it would have been the Empire having to destroy a Rogue Venator over Kamino. And the dialogue before the mission began was just chilling, among the coldest words i have ever heard. "To this day i cannot understand what motivated our creators to rise up against us, had they gone mad? Had we failed them in someway? In the end it really didn't matter, the Kaminoans had to be stopped and their army of treacherous gene cousins destroyed. The first few kills were the hardest, after all its hard not to get a little spooked, when the enemy screams with your voice, we shook it off and did our job. Most of the soldiers never knew about Kamino, like a lot of things in the Empire, it never really happened."

Some other mods i’d suggest are: conversion pack 2.0 and 2.2 patch (Adds bf1 maps, new units and 1,3 unofficial patch with free camera and other goodies) The Clone wars revised (lots of great animated TWC with new units and ashooka hunt modes) Ansem darkseers mappack (op the force unleshed units, even kit fisto + ventress, with insane effects and fun gameplay) Battlefront extreme (my favorite mod ever gameplay wise, the creme de la creme of bf mods)

Me and a fellow modder are working on a mod for EA battlefront 2 called “Realistic Overhaul” This mod aims to overhaul the health and damage system to be a more movie accurate tactical experience. This mod will prioritize realism and accuracy to the Star Wars movies, while also maintaining balancing between characters. The overhaul will affect troopers, heroes, and reinforcements. Some other changes will be that Friendly fire will be present, rockets will be more effective against vehicles, recoil and weapon sway will be more present, snipers will one shot, grenades will be more realistic, and star card abilities (thise affecting damage and health) will be balanced. One example of balancing will be that the droidekas shield will be op similar to how it is in the movies, but when their shield is down they have low health especially when rolling (1.25 damage multiplier) similar to the OG bf games. We plan to release a beta within the next three weeks, with a full 1.0 release coming in late May or early June. Let me know if you have suggestions or questions! I want this to be a community based project built for the fans! Also I plan to run this mod with a few others on a kyber V2 server this summer. May the force be with you.

Saw loads of people on tik tok saying everyone is moaning over nothing and the classic collection is exactly as advertised, they seem to have no knowledge that the original Battlefronts 2's servers are still up and has better modding capability so you can easily get better graphics. 6:21-6:26 Speaking of droidekas, turns out you can accidentally PERMANENTLY remove your ability to enter ball mode on the collection on console. I changed my vehicle controls and I forgot that droidekas fall under vehicle controls. Went to change my controls back only to see there is no option for it. By default the ball mode button is circle, but vehicle controls have it listed as >>none
