Excellent video! Tams, are you my long-lost sibling? ;) So many of your examples had me nodding enthusiastically as I have similar attitudes about cars, end-of-workday moments of relaxation, etc. I'm envious of your neighbor situation for sure! And oh, your comments about limiting beliefs really hit home -- I often struggle with the kinds of viewpoints shared by my peers/family and it's SO freeing to acknowledge that I don't have to do things in my life based upon someone else's definition. I'm a wee bit older than you (52) -- and while age sometimes makes us feel like we're losing in many ways, one thing I feel like I'm gaining is clarity of self. I feel like I know who I am with every passing year. Anyhow, enough rambling -- just wanted to thank you for posting this. I had a rough work day and I'm so glad I got to view this and head to bed with a more positive outlook and great food for thought!

Exactly! All of this! As much as I'm sometimes nostalgic for my younger days, I would not trade my self-awareness to go back in time. I was nodding along enthusiastically to all of this, too, especially the points about cars and not waiting to enjoy the things we want to do until some mythical event happens. Most of all, though, I'm glad I've gotten to the point where I get to decide what is "luxury" or "essential" to my life, even if that doesn't sync up with the rest of the world.
