Glad you're safe bro. I also hate when the wind just doesn't do what it should. I also have a TORQEEDO, and my fin drive. But constant 15 mph and the gusts are usually higher, I'm turning back. Or depending on the lake I'm on. I usually have protected coves to still enjoy the day. And if I'm in a tournament, I'll find somewhere well protected and give up my spot. Rather be on my kayaks another day. Or not flip and ruin a day, or accessories. 🙏 🌊 🎣

Hey Reel One: Just found your channel today. Subbed. I have been bass fishing with my 10 foot WS Tarpon kayak for several years up in Canada where I live. Your Bonafide is a heavier beast (witness the tight editing you did at 1:07 haha) but wonderful to be able to stand up. Thanks for sharing the experience.
@ReelOne6 жыл бұрын
Larry Thank You so much for watching and commenting! I appreciate it. Yes my Bonafide is on the heavier side but offers that stability. Also the ability to stand up and fish is a gamechanger. Being able to see fish and Bass on their beds and sight fish them is a great advantage. Thanks again Larry #TightLines

Does it actually weigh about 67 lbs like the website says? You can carry yourself? I've got a feelfree lure13.5 and it's 100 lbs.. I'm getting tired of the weight, even just getting the front up in the bed of my truck is killing my back, Haha

Dude, I fished out of the SS107 for the past few months and absolutely loved it. But than I had a rare opportunity to make a straight up trade for an SS127, and man o man, it’s a night and day difference. One of the better decisions I have made as of lately lol

Reel One yeah, I’m up in Minnesota, so this time of year I go after bass and northern pike, so the bigger yak makes that a much nicer experience! Being able to stand up and wrestle with pike and big bass is my most favorite feature of this yak!

I Have another question of you could help out. Why the ss107 instead of the 127, I am having a struggle within to get the 127 and feel like the 107 is just as good. Any thoughts or opinions help. Buying one in the next couple days.
@ReelOne5 жыл бұрын
@@thedookster4143 Im not sure what the real benefit is to get the larger 127. The 107 is super stable and much lighter. What do you expect to get out of the 127 that you wont on the 107? I know someone who sold their 127 to "downgrade" to the 107. I lift my 107 up to get it on my truck bed and its not light. I suggest you see the two in person and maybe try both out!

It also comes with the underseat tackle drawer. But you can buy that for the 107 if you want it. I feel the 107 is the perfect size and just much more manageable.

How does that boat treat you on a lake? I’m wondering if I want the 12 foot or 10 foot model? How does it track at low speeds? Have you ever owned a 12 footer? Thanks man good video
@ReelOne4 жыл бұрын
Get the 10ft and Invest in a rudder. Its super stable and easier to handle the 107. Biggest complaint is the lack of a rudder. I now own a 2018 Hobie Outback and love it. Not as comfortable as the Bonafide though.

Late to this video as I’m just seeing it. Interested in the Bonafide 107 and curious, once you get a hang of standing up, from a scale of 1-10, how stable is it when you hook and reel in a fish?
@ReelOne4 жыл бұрын
8/10. No worries on hookset! Can't give it more BC I'm sure the 127 takes that spot. I now own a Hobie Outback, which I love but it can't touch the Bonafide stability or comfort of the seat. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and commenting! Its called the C-TUG and its definitely come in handy! 😎

If you put the C-tug closer towards the middle like right behind the seat, that would make it so much easier for you than having the C-Tug on the back.

Reel One I really didn’t want to spend the loot on the c tug. I’m a mechanic, so investing in good tools is part of my character. Thanks for showing it works with this Bonafide. We tried it just in front of his seat, and seems to be good balance when holding the rear handle. I have also seen it used in the front just where the side rails dip down behind the front hatch. Have an awesome day my friend.

What’s the speed like in the 107?
@ReelOne5 жыл бұрын
Good question! I would say it depends, obviously faster than a heavier, longer sit on top kayak like the 127 or similar. But definitely not as fast as most sit inside kayaks. I would say it is NOT that fast and if speed or covering any significant distance is important on non moving bodies of water... this isn't your yak. However it isn't slow and it's strengths can't be understated! It is light for what it offers, is beyond stable, has plenty of storage and 'fishability'. I see a lot of owners, esp of the 127 adding motors or some form of propulsion.
@alecwilcox65495 жыл бұрын
Reel One thanks for the reply! I’m almost sold on this yak. I’m only 175lbs so I feel this kayak is about perfect for me. The only concern I’d have is keeping up with others on choppy water. But I love the storage and stability of this model.
@ReelOne5 жыл бұрын
@@alecwilcox6549 Thank you for the question! Yes you will have a time keeping up in chop with other yaks in that environment. Also if there is any significant wind/current you need to look into the rudder option, or you will be blown and turned all around. I don't own it and thus dont take my yak out on windy days. I'll actually be taking this yak out inshore fishing soon, so look for that!

I just picked one of these up yesterday(same color) and put it on the water today. I'm 6'1" @ 260. I had the seat in the high position and by the end of the day, I felt a little more confident. Getting up standing and turning around to get things out of the tank well, I'm not there yet! I hope it will come and that my big ass is not going to regret it, lol. I'll text it more in warmer weather when I don't mind going in, lol. I Enjoyed your video!
@ReelOne6 жыл бұрын
Thank you John! I'm more comfortable now. I can reach behind me, turn and grab my rods. I can get down and kinda crawl towards front to open hatch. But just like you I'll wait to warmer friendlier waters to truly test my limits.
