Some of your favorite brands, and a few new ones, came together to help me choose what the NEW Bond might be wearing when we get a new movie. I think Cavill would bring a lot of charm back to Bond. I can see Cavill’s Bond being a blend of a Moore and Craig…maybe a bit harder version of Brosnan's? I have a feeling he won’t be the cast though…by the time they are ready I think he will be too big a star and a little old to have a good long tenure… maybe they could make a planned trilogy arc with him? It depends on filming schedule.. Henry would probably be too busy to get back to that ever other year schedule.

Cavill is able to do the perfect Bond with the right script. No matter which direction the producers pick, he could be a great Bond with a direction close to Connery or even with a direction close to Moore! The man from UNCLE movie should erase every doubt about him. I wish the producers pick him and he accepts. Great video!

Great video David. Henry Cavill is definitely my favourite pick for the new Bond but with the next film still so far off and EON already saying that they'd want a Bond in their 30s that may take him out of the running. I absolutely want them to bring back more of a focus on the spy aspect to his character. Have him speaking other languages, doing proper infiltration work and maybe even have him using disguises. That watch case is beautiful could totally see Bond being equipped with it for travelling through airports. He could even conceal his trademark Walther within the tubing. Who knows but what an interesting idea for a video. Well done.

Cavill is often pigeon holed as a 'Moore/Brosnan' type because of Man from uncle but Mission Impossible Fallout showed he could also pull off a darker and more physical character [and far more people saw that at the cinema] so could do a more serious take too. Be interesting to see what sort of character he plays in Mathew Vaughn's upcoming spy film Argylle as he's certainly a more versatile actor than he often gets credit for.

I’m 100 percent behind Henry in the role. We need this to be a true A List Blockbuster. Maverick shows that we want a great action flick that you come away from feeling totally jacked. He would be a vital piece of that puzzle.

I'm with you David, Bond should be timeless and classic. I love the Ray Bans, I would also choose Wayfarers, it brings back a Connery vibe. I too love the Henleys, also worn by Bruce Lee in the late 60's. I often thought to dress Bond one should walk around Mayfair in London and Savile Row and choose brands and cloths from there, that's what Bond would do! Except for a few accessories like sunglasses and watches his cloths should be timeless and British, British, British!

I now need a sky blue henley. Regarding the watch roll I would recommend saving a few hundred quid and get a similar hexagonal handmade case from Kauffman. They have a nice one in British racing green.

Also -Timothy makes some excellent points; but the reason nostalgia, and period dramas are SO popular, is that normal people(the majority) dislike what is being forced on them in terms of a ‘modernity’. The idea that “Bond must change” is merely an opinion... -and one coming from studios with an agenda, rather than the audience who actually values the character.

I'm looking forward to seeing a new Bond style. I wasn't a huge fan of some of Craig's later outfits. Novel Bond loved the finer things in life and I would like to see classics back like Sunspel. I guess once we know who will be Bond (hopefully Cavill) we will be able to guage the style that will most likely to fit him.

You've captured warm wether, but what about winter weather? What about the wardrobe choices for his activities (on and off mission), for instance his attire for skiing, climbing or even golf?

I love OBTs. They are one of the few brands that can actually cut a t-shirt properly (I’m the exact same dimensions as David and “small” is perfect). But the problem with them is that they are fragile. I’ve sent 3 back already for developing belt line pin holes the first couple of times I’ve worn them…and I haven’t been wearing belts with them, I wouldn’t dare…the shirts are too fragile.

I am 6’0, 1/3” . My body type is a bit thicker than Henry Cavil. I was a collegiate athlete back in the days. I practice MMA and workout a lot. I don’t buy clothes that straight from James Bond wardrobe brands. I pick cloths that fits me,with James bond feel, style and color way. They don’t have to be very luxurious brands nor too cheap. Pants and trousers have to be high quality, flexible and fit.

Great pics! In addition to the usual suspects would love to see his suiting come from Thom Sweeney (T Everest alum) as a British brand with great tailoring I think it would be a great fit. I’d also love (no offence!) a move away from omega as I just don’t see it as a bond brand. Rolex to me would be ideal, but a close second would be Bremont due to its military association and Brit branding. Also belstaff for casual

Timothy Everest is an excellent interviewee and I can't imagine in the 1960s-1980s they were looking at the 1920s for inspiration for every James Bond outfit like 2020s. Also, John Smedley would be a good fit as a Bond brand although don't think it would go down well with NPeal. agree with more Bond lifestyle moments such as playing sport, drinking a flat white coffee, eating the finer foods. Still not sure on Cavill, Matt Smith would be a good outside bet as is a good actor and stylish imo.

I'd go with Persols over aviators. They are still timeless but they also have that slight retro 60s vibe which Bond should always have IMO.

Totally agreed. Aviators are a little too American, and they're more emblematic of the 50s and 80s than Bond's iconic 60s. Persols or some version of Wayfarers are more appropriate for Bond. The Barton Perreira Joe model from NTTD were really perfect!

Caville is fine for Bond at that (Moore) age. Just doing missions competently, confidently with plenty of experience. Thin down a touch. Manly, man sized classic clothes. Back to basics of Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan Bond. One quick light back and forth with Q at the end (repairing his Q_Dar) quipping he'd wished it had purely luckily survived that air strike instead of Bond! 🍸

Cavill was the back up choice to Craig for CR. I think he'd be excellent in the role. He clearly wants it and seems to be a great guy. I do agree he needs to be less Superman and Witcher size as 007.

I've been saying Cavill should be next for years, absolute the perfect choice ticks all the boxes and is more than capable of the action, as for the film set it realistic modern day like Casino Royale was and every one else brand new cast and have an opening scene at the real MI6 building again to hit in that's its a brand new time line. As for the style I believe he wears an Omega in real life but dress very modern its about time the 60's were left there.

I see Cavill as a sort of blend of the cheesy humor of Moore and the sheer size and darkness of Dalton and the physicality of Craig. So I guess maybe a bigger, stronger, more physical Brosnan in a way? But the thing is, I'm not totally sure that works. In 2006 I think it would work -- not with a 23 year old Cavill, but maybe a Clive Owen(?). But today I think doing that tries to occupy too many lanes. The hyper physicality of Craig worked well because like Bourne he was an average sized person who blended in, and he never looked totally comfortable in a tux the way Connery or Moore or Brosnan did. And that was part of his character. Cavill would wear the tux well and also look like the guy who could kick everyone in the room's ass. It feels a little too OP for me.

The brands Bond wears are unobtainable for most guys due to cost & exclusivity. I know personally when I see something he wears by the time I’ve saved for it they are out of stock. I think the Jaeger brand has a few items & if attached to Bond sales would be through the roof. Whilst still moderately expensive they are far more affordable for pieces in the collection. Also being attached to the iconic M&S brand in their stores would sell them worldwide.

I think the best Bond transition would be to reboot to the Cold War era. I like Henry as an actor. Not sure he would be the best choice for the reboot.

I think the 60s reboot makes the most sense. Set it “in period” and remake the books faithfully. You could legitimately avoid all the PC nonsense too. It’s what I’d like but I’m not sure how it would play out with younger audiences.

I've always liked Henry Cavill for Bond, but it's just not going to happen. He's too old and too well-known at this point. Especially since he's already a "franchise face"- I just don't see the Broccolis casting a former Superman as Bond.

Cavill undoubtedly looks the part, and has charisma in spades. However, he's not a particularly good actor and that shouldn't be overlooked. If the producers are looking for a lighter tone he could work, but if they're going for pathos, he's gonna struggle...

It wouldn't at all surprise me, in an effort to capture a more upbeat 007 to contrast to the bleaker Craig-era, that Tom Ford is dropped as wardrobe and they adopt Gucci for tailoring. While Gucci offer timeless tailoring, there's obviously a certain flair that is signature to the label's style. On the one hand, I don't expect them to go anywhere near the camp style of Elton John or Harry Styles, as Gucci have done. But, I could certainly see Gucci giving 007 a tux, but with a slight flamboyant flair (say, perhaps a red lapel or something like that).
