It’s amazing to me that when asked if they swim they say NO! Why would you want to go into the sea if you DONT SWIM! I live in Calif., when I was 12 my mom and me went to the beach. (Newport). Conditions aren’t even as bad as Bondi beach and I got caught in a rip. I got to far out and couldn’t get back. My mom had told me that morning how to get out of a rip. To swim parallel in the ocean, so I did and got out of it myself. Thank god for my mom telling me that that morning!

It’s great to see what these professional lifeguards do for those who need rescue. With the thousands of beach goers it’s also important that the local community of people help out as well. You only have so many lifeguards on duty, so it’s cool to see those who have common sense to be aware of different situations. From those who may have too much to drink, bag thieves, perverts that are doing naughty stuff and those who are in need of rescue from drowning too. To watch the rescue of the two year old was intense. Seeing the mom on the beach and not able to do anything other than watch. To the father trying to save his daughter and I’m not sure if he was able to swim either because he needed to also be rescued as well. It is amazing to me how many rescues performed at Bondi beach are those who can’t swim? Why in the world do these people even go near the water knowing they can’t swim. Many are professional people and you would think they would be smarter than that? Has anyone else noticed how many people have a dislocating injury to part on their body? I like this program because it’s entertaining and these lifeguards are professional and each one has his or her own personality which makes it real and not actors like Bay Watch was. Hats off to these lifeguards and thank you for what you do too……cheers mate!

Not to be rude.. but these tourists NEED to stop being so careless . I'm a kiwi and our oceans are just as dangerous if not more.. they need to take accountability.
