Can I ask you a question I'm not be sarcastic or trying to be mean it's a legit question what is the deal with people announcing that they are first? Do you get something out of it like the channel send you a first or something of that nature? I'm just wondering what you get out of it or is it just a tactic to get noticed and get comments I'm just curious because I constantly see people doing this before they even watch the video

Last year I had my terrier shaved. Got home and started to get him out of the car and felt two huge baseball sized lumps on his chest. I called the vet and got him back in immediately. The vet assured me that It came on suddenly, that they had never felt it before. That was on a Monday. I had him put down 5 days later. That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, even though I have had pets put down before. I felt as if I had not had time to process what was happening to Patches. My other dog still looks for him.

@Robert dude, even Scott said there was no way she could have realised there was something wrong with the other leg. She was putting all her weight on it, she showed NO signs of there being an issue with it. Ali not noticing it when there were zero signals that there was anything wrong was NOT her fault.
@FLOSSYTREADWELL4 жыл бұрын
@Robert How dare you use the word neglect & surround it with a lot of ineffective padding blah blah blahing twaddle. She did nothing of the sort neglect that dog. The dog had an operation & it was expected that changes with age would be seen in the young pup. She witnessed more changes than her senses felt were to be expected & took action. That her senses were correct makes her a responsible owner & you a bad judge of character.

@Robert Over 40 years rescuing cats. My oldest cat lived to 23. She had been rescued from abject cruelty which left her crippled for life. Previous owners (if you can call them that) were prosecuted and served jail time. We were regulars at our vets with her. I currently have 10 cats, the oldest is 20 and still doing very well. I have had dogs too, German Shepherds. All were adopted from rescues. I lost my beloved German Shepherd earlier this year to old age so, yes, I think I'm taking good care of my FAMILY. You are obviously not from the UK as neglect of an animal is a punishable offence here and people can be heavily fined, jailed, banned from keeping any pet for life or all three. You don't know the lady's circumstances any more than I do but I will reiterate what another commenter has already said, that even Scott said she probably wouldn't have known. Animals have a bad habit of hiding their illnesses or injuries. Cats are especially good at doing that and by the time you realise something is wrong, it is often too late. Any vet will tell you that. A lady I know who rescues cats, one of her own cats went to the vet for his annual boosters and general health check. Between the previous health check and the one he went for, the vet found a mass in his abdomen. It was cancer. The cat had shown no signs or symptoms of being ill whatsoever, yet in that year between health checks he developed a tumour. Fortunately, he responded well to chemo but he won't live too much longer. He has good days and bad days. Unless you know someone's circumstances please do not judge. My previous comment to you stands.
@Pythonaria4 жыл бұрын
@Robert I always feel that the best thing if you suspect something wrong with your cat or dog is get it checked out. Could be something or could be nothing but best to catch the problem early on. Not only is it better for the pet but a lot less costly than if the problem is allowed to run on. Videos like this are educational and I hope by watching them, people will see how delaying seeing the vet can lead to all kinds of horrible problems both for the pet and the owner.

His assistants spoil my wire fox terrier so much that she loves to go there, and she hates to leave. There are thousands of really wonderful vets worldwide, but they don't have TV shows. Doesn't mean they aren't doing wonderful things with animals every day. This takes nothing away from Dr. Scott who is nearly perfect. :). Love love love him.

Our vet here in Harrisburg will get down with out kitties. Even out occasionally naughty one, Bidey. He actually held our late, great Siamese, Bubba, when he was trying to flush his kidneys over night, and his breath started slowing and he knew he was passing on to the other side of that Rainbow Bridge. He told us that he disconnected the IV pushing fluids, and just told Bubba how much his Mommy and Daddy loved him and were going to miss him, but that it was okay for him to cross the bridge. Our vet told us that he loved me too much to die with me, but thankfully he trusted Dr Migs enough so that he didn’t hide someplace and be alone as he went home to the Lord.

Not all humans are attractive either but you love people for who they are friends etc. Its sad that its nearly 7 months into 2020 n not only are people still judging each others looks, now poor animals too? If I were Ami and someone stranger said that my dog was ugly outta no where, I would defend my dog and ask that person "If they have anything else more important in their lives to insult my dog and I?" Or " We aren't in High School so grow up" . It does really hurt my heart people are really so petty. (Sry such a long comment that upset me)

I'm sorry you don't have a good veterinarian or any around you. I live in Washington State and have had the same vet almost 30 years. All my dogs have loved her and her staff. She has a rescue for dogs and cats on death row. And has room for about 20 each. When My dog Moose and I had the kitchen explode and a fire, I had been hurt badly. Moose a very large GSD pulled me away from the fire. I died and he lay over me and died. Julia heard on her scanner and knew it was me and Moose. She came running. While fire and EMT's worked on me getting me ready to load on a helicopter, Julia and two fire fighters worked on Moose. When it was clear there was no hope she had him placed in her truck and took him to the clinic. There they bathed him (he was covered with smoke and soot) and cleaned him up. Then placed him in a wooden box wrapped in a blanket. She called her husband also a vet and had him backhoe a hole in a meadow with fowers and trees on her large ranch. That night they buried him. A friend got a marker for his grave. And I was life flighted across the state in a coma. I lived. Julia doesn't hold back her care of critters big or small. She is the best at what she does, her husband too. I was her 2nd client on the day she opened her practice. Long winded story. But you need to know there are better than great vets out there. So keep looking. Happily her son is following their lead so the legacy will continue.

The pulling on the dog’s collar/lead to get her off the floor is not an action that is recommended for owner and dog. No one should be pulling on a dog’s neck to get him/ her to a standing position. In this particular case, the owner, and the vet, or a nurse should have lifted the dog to a standing position, one on each end of his body. A harness is a more comfortable way to walk with a dog, instead of with a collar and leash. I was happy to see Mable walking on a harness at the end of this program!

@@LauraRodriguez-ju5bo All animals within a species are not identical when it comes to the genetics of how easily they gain weight, as well as retaining weight. To put it simply, you could have 10 hedgehogs each fed identical diets over a period of a year and you would end up with 10 different weights, probably differing by a hundred grams or more. You also have behavioral differences, like maybe one throws part of his food out every day onto the floor, which gets vacuumed up, while another eats every single piece given, maybe others are picky with certain foods while others are not, etc,etc. Given that this hedgehog has suffered from obesity since it was a baby, maybe it has some type of issue where it gains weight slightly more easily than others. For example, I own 8 cats which I free feed (always food available, as it is nearly impossible to feed once a day, as they are all hungry at different times of the day and outdoor cats eat many, upwards of 8 to 10 small meals per day, so free feeding mimics this), and 2 of my cats are obese, 2 are underweight, and 4 are near perfect weights. And it isn't food bullying as that isn't possible with 8 food dishes all over my house, and all bowls always have some food in them. If it was simply food given to them that was causing it then I would end up with all of my cats obese, or the majority, yet I end up with a few obese, a few a little thin, and the majority on par with average, and they have unlimited food.

@@rdizzy1 You admit to 2 of your 8 cats being obese and still free feed... I'm sorry, but them not being hungry at the same time is not an excuse to that. If you put them on a schedule, they would all become accustomed to that schedule and would get hungry around the same time. Obesity leads to so many health issues and puts cats in pain, too. And they can't overcome that on their own; you are responsible for their successes and their failures. I've said it before, I will say it again: There is no excuse for having an obese pet. You are responsible for that animal and it is your job to keep that animal healthy.

@@khills Except for there's a difference between overweight and obese. Obesity is extremely damaging to the heart and joints and will lead to arthritic changes, not might. And if somebody has obese cats, they need to employ a form of food control as well as exercising their cats more, plain and simple.

I'm wondering just how much that hedgehog was being fed to run so much and still gain weight...
@makaylaandhenry91603 жыл бұрын
Hedgehogs typically run all night thats how they are in the wild they actually poop while running while out hunting to keep predators from finding there dens. Hedgies typically eat high in protein cat food and sometimes if not being fed the right kind they can be very fattening and wax worms/ meal worms are also preferred treats by hedgies and they are very very fattening so its actually not that hard to over spoil a hedgie without meaning to plus hedgies are big foodies and if its your first hedgehog you can very easily over feed them because they act like they need more food when really they don't. So all that can play a part into how it became overweight but the running wouldn't keep the fat off because actually in the wild they would run a lot more and lot faster

At 8 years old my boxer has arthritis in her right rear knee and ankle. Pain meds and 3 easy walks a day and you would never know. When the area swells and gets hot I make an ice pack in an old sock, tie it around the joint, to ease the swelling. She loves her ice packs.
@nippichaos4 жыл бұрын
I would consider a raw food diet without grains. My dog had arthritis and could hardly walk, I put her on a raw food diet, CBD oil, turmeric, ginger, green lipped mussels. Some pain meds actually stop regeneration of the joints. You should look at Dogs naturally magazine website, 3 years on and my dog is happy healthy and med free. Her back paw unseized. I did the raw food course to make sure I was giving her a balanced diet. I would never go back to kibble, I would not have her now if I hadn`t of made those changes.
