I know WHY, but I really wish y'all's Jolly Balloon Man was built around literally any ability other than Modular. it just seems extremely underpowered when the best thing your commander is doing is... putting two +1/+1 counters on a critter. especially when there are so many fun EtBs in Boros that could make for super fun and varied games!

Monarch does not go away. The crown would have gone to the next active player. 722.4. If the monarch leaves the game, the active player becomes the monarch at the same time as that player leaves the game. If the active player is leaving the game or if there is no active player, the next player in turn order becomes the monarch. If no player still in the game can become the monarch, the game continues with no monarch.

So, at 15:39, I don’t think JBM can create another token. FOMO creates another combat phase, but not another main phase. JBM’s ability can only be activated as a sorcery, which means it can’t be activated during a combat phase. Am I incorrect? Not trying to nitpick. Honestly just trying to make sure I understand the interaction between the two cards correctly.

I was about to say "all effects that create an extra combat phase also create a main phase", but no, you do seem to be correct, FOMO creates it during combat, so it goes directly from 1st combat to 2nd combat, and Balloon Man only activates at sorcery speed, so this combo doesn't work.

fun balloon man trick : play hijack (or similar) on an opponents commander/legendary creature. after attack phase- balloonman duplicate the legendary = keep the token on board - legendary dies - token dies on endstep. get attack phase / enter effects of another legendary + removal for 4ish mana.

I enjoy Jolly Balloon Man in my Arabella deck, and using him to copy Sublime Archangel. Double the exalted triggers makes Arabella pretty huge when she attacks.

Unfortunately, that isn't quite how Shroud works. Unless Blast Act was attempting to target the creature, boots won't interact with the spell.

"each creature" is not a target no. It would have to say target in the text, such as "X target creautures". Those type of board wipes get around shroud and hexproof.
