Can you turn a Hibiscus house plant into a bonsai? Of course you can!
This Chinese Rose is now 27 years old.
This is a bit older clip but, you can see how I perform some pruning and defoliation on this bonsai to create structure.
The Chinese rose or Hibiscus rosa sinensis is a very good tree for creating indoor bonsai.
Resistant to heat and slightly lower temperatures.
He prefers a slightly more water-retentive bonsai substrate mix.
Do not defoliate the bonsai if you are not sure that they are stabilized and healthy and do not defoliate every year.
You must also be sure that the bonsai species is receptive to this type of operation, because not all species of woody plants have a positive response to defoliation.
