A sneaky little bonus video following up on my Rolex Authorised Dealer nightmare visit. Here's Part Deux (Slight nod to Hot Shots here!)
I've had a series of comments on my previous video (check it out here if you haven't already • Rolex Authorized Deale... ) and so I thought I would discuss with some further observations & thoughts.
Thanks as always for watching,

As you say in your video, the Ad's should always treat you with respect,as they don't know how much cash you have to drop on a timepiece. I got into watches for the respect of the craftsmanship in this throwaway world,, and also the pleasure I. Brings me looking at the small cogs all busy doing what they were intended for. Hundreds of moving parts all with their Jobs to do. It may sound alittle weird of me but when a fellow watch enthusiast notices my watches as being either historical for instance my bulova "moon watch"NOT THE NEW SWATCH PLASTIC TOY" in my semi educated opinion lol. I just love watches for the memories they remind me of and they genuine joy they bring, anyway sorry for going on , here's a 🌷 from the UK to make up for you're bad customer experience lol

You are a hypocrite IMO if after that experience you end up buying a rolex. I was interested in a particular Rolex, now I see the brand as a whore and those who wear the brand as marks. ...No insult intended to whores. Having spent a life by the motto 'turn bad of any sort into good' in this instance it occurred to me that +/- 12 minutes, or more per year was hardly a time piece worthy of the epithet and now, thanks to my horrible rolex experience I have a watch that cost me a similar amount to the rolex I was once upon a time interested in, yet seems too keep time with far greater accuracy. I was told it was designed to be better than +/- 5 seconds per year, but so far it seems to be running around 1 second fast per year. There's a silver lining for you. The finish looks superior too. ...Can you guess what it is yet? A little Aussie Joke for you. ;-)

@@nasseraburashed I'm also a lawyer (not with the ACCC though!). I'm not suggesting you will get preferential treatment but rather, they will have to carefully think about every word they say (or don't say) to you because it is very easy in Australia because the misleading and deceptive conduct prohibitions are very widely interpreted. It is not just limited to conduct that has mislead and deceived, but conduct that is capable of being misleading or deceptive. I think consumers would benefit from a couple of AD's being prosecuted and fined a healthy amount of money.

I came here from part 1. You are right - Rolex created this situation, knowingly, with full knowledge of what they were doing, and as long as people are willing to put up with it they will keep on doing it. If the purchase experience is so bad for the *average* person on the street, imagine how bad the after sales service is in five years when you go to get your watch serviced.

I agree. I've had a similar experience. One AD I visited was awful, he spoke down down to me and told me categorically that I had to buy something else before I'd get a Rolex. Another AD with which I did register for a Rolex were more open, no suggestion of a lead in purchase but over time their story adapts and extends, so their forecasts (not a guarantee I know) are proving inaccurate. The genuine big spenders get the fast track service. And I think that contributes to Rolex ownership being a 'club', not just a watch, and maybe this is why people are willing to part with cash, to be part of the club; status and flexing. I think you've grown your collection correctly, continue to only go for watches and experiences that make you feel good. When the Tudor Black Bay Pro was released I couldn't resist it, I really wanted that watch and thought buying it may help my Rolex case, I phoned the AD, they put me on another list, I thought I'd get one fairly soon but 3 months later there was nothing, I called them and my Rolex wait time had extended again and the Tudor forecast was 12 months! A couple of days later I decided to investigate elsewhere and managed to get a Tudor Black Bay Pro within 24 hours. It's a sensational watch. From that shop I also have managed to buy the brand new Ranger. Great watches, true to my desire and great buying experiences.
@AussieWristWatch
@AussieWristWatch 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great comments, I really love the Tudor's but in all honesty hadn't really taken note of them until very recently. I don't think for me they are an alternative to a Rolex, but simply an option to add to the collection for what they are on their own - amazing tool watches. Yeah I'm not into all the politics of the Rolex game I guess, but will maintain my good relationship with the lovely AD and see where it goes. If anything, I met a good person.

good on you for speaking the truth and revealing the current patronising Rolex marketing schtick. I wouldn't even bother with them these days, preferring to remember the days (mid-90's to early 2000's) when you could (and I did) just walk into the AD in Collins St and buy whatever Rolex you wanted, and then, 6-7 years later walk into their Melbourne service centre with a GMT2 bezel issue and have them fix it on the spot, no questions asked. Every time I have to deal with my Rolex AD I leave feeling like shit, cross the street to the Omega Boutique where they greet me by name and fall over themselves to serve me. It's really weird being a VIP of one brand but a worthless piece of sh!t with another. I can afford any watch in their catalogue and can't even get taken seriously. As Omega have found out, if you sell me the watch I want I will come back bigger and better, over and over again and I bring them other clients by referral. For f*cks sake I just want an Explorer II, it shouldn't be that hard for an unpopular model. I don't even care about the dial colour.

From my own experience there is no list. I have been on the “list” at several ADs and after waiting 2+ years I know I will not get the Rolex I want. They are pre sold to the ADs large spenders. My solution is to buy other brands that want to sell me a watch. I know it’s supply and demand, but the fact is large spending customers buy whatever Rolex they want and flip it. That is how Grey market dealers get their stock and they have plenty of supply.

So…… your first AD already carefully explained how it works. You then went to a second AD, had the benefit of trying on a number of different pieces, ultimately including the ones you were most interested in. You then make a public video slamming that AD for their ‘appalling’ treatment of you when by your own admission you already had the facts. You then make a disingenuous analogy to shopping for a Toyota the watch equivalent of which would probably be a Seiko not a Rolex, perhaps try visiting a Porsche dealership and demanding to drive one of their most prized models such as a 911 GT3. You could then make a video slamming that dealership when they explain that these models have demand so far in excess of supply that they are only made available to existing Porsche customers with several high end models already in their purchase history. And by the way the reason they won’t sell a GMT to ANY walk in is because if they do that, they are well aware that 90% plus of such theoretical buyers will immediately flip those watches on the grey market at least doubling their money. Don’t take this personally and I don’t think you will I think you are a genuine person but may I respectfully suggest you reflect on the context of your expectations versus the availability of the products you desire and also perhaps recognise that the independent dealership simply cannot increase the supply of the product furthermore the reality that Rolex themselves set the purchasing rules not the ADs who must account to Rolex. On a happier note, there is a recession developing and this may well reduce demand significantly and the excess of demand over supply that is the root cause of the availability problems is likely to change in your favour over the next 1-2 years so hang in there don’t give up on what your want if you truly love something you can find a way with the right attitude which is not to scapegoat others publicly when they are not responsible for the situation. Peace ✌️

I own a Porsche, so I'll leave that there, but you missed the point. I never said I wasn't willing to wait I never expected to walk into the story and walk out with what turns out to be one of the hottest watches. What I don't need, nor I imagine you would appreciate yourself is being spoken down to and told that a watch isn't for me or Rolex isn't for me, by virtue of the fact I actually happen to like their popular models. Of course Rolex or any other brand I like is for me - what might not be possible is getting that watch, and that I can accept. I'm an educated person who fully understands the premise of supply and demand. But playing games with customers pressing upon them the necessity to expend thousands of dollars on their lesser models (and to be clear, none of which were offered, I was given the chance to go on a waiting list for something I didn't want - how great of him) is ludicrous. It's not entitled and it's not privileged.
@marcopanti1017
@marcopanti1017 2 жыл бұрын
@@AussieWristWatch yes I understand. Almost certainly you weren’t offered the pieces that were less desirable to you because they don’t have those in stock either. Possibly this second SA did not gel with you there is the odd douchebag out there let’s be real about that. I’m just responding to your story as you told it. They can’t offer you a Pepsi or Batman off the bat due to Rolex’s rules. The rules are there to reduce flippers who make the availability (and secondary market price) situations worse. As you would be a new Rolex customer (remember it is Rolex that sets and actively monitors these rules not the AD) they can talk to you about a piece they can sell you, but you stated that you weren’t interested in that, which is entirely your prerogative of course. As you are also a Porsche owner, you’ll no doubt be well aware there are a number of desirable models (the GT cars especially) that Porsche will never offer you unless you have a significant prior new Porsche purchase history - for similar reasons they are also selling 2nd hand for 2x + the new price. Same goes with many luxury/Veblen goods at the moment. It’s a little hard to see how this AD could have made you happy given the impasse but it seems the way the went about it is the issue. It sound like they were expected to be more upfront with what they could and couldn’t sell you, bet then again you already stated you were happy with the ‘nice’ AD who explained the situation to you so you were in fact aware beforehand. One wonders why you didn’t pursue the watches you want with the first AD? Can you explain what your expectation was when visiting this second AD this might shed light on why you say your experience was so appalling as you put it (minus expletives). If it was simply that they give you an exhibition GMT or Sub to try on, then fair enough. However this wouldn’t change the availability situation at all, as you already knew. Not having a go but lashing out publicly is unlikely to help you succeed in this situation. Like I said before there is a worldwide recession developing and it’s likely availability will improve considerably quite soon so here’s hoping you can pick up that GMT or Sun sooner rather than later. Personally I would try to avoid sabotaging my own goals by publicly smearing one of the few venues where I might be able to get what I’m looking for. On the other hand, I respect you for sticking to your principles and refusing to return if you don’t like the vendor. Perhaps that particular SA is rude to other customers and will be moved on at some point cheers and good luck 🤞

It’s never Rolex selling you a watch, even when it’s a boutique, it’s always an AD. It might be an independent, it might be a small chain, it might be a big chain. Just like car dealerships, some are great, some are dicks, and its who you speak to on the day that counts anyway. Most people commenting have probably never set foot in an AD, and a lot that have probably take red flags in with them.

Brands get free marketing from us through social media. The new gen loves creating hype around products, which leads to mass buying and scarcity of products. Brands are paying attention and reaping the benefits. Mercedes AMG is stopping production for a year. Again what will it to do for pricing and availability? Even shoes are being produced in limited quantities thus causing people to pay much more than retail to get their favourite sneaker. We can’t blame the retailer but instead need to wake up and stop allowing this to go on.

The Rolex situation is very frustrating and you are so right about the way we should look at things.. we are customers and we should not have to beg or play games. I've been lucky with AD experiences in Edinburgh, even though they have all said that I can no longer put my name down for sports models. Which is ridiculous....I did buy the 39mm Explorer 3 years ago but returned it.... And then I got slowly pushed towards watches that are more achievable, so I'm waiting for a silver 36mm DateJust.... I also love omega... the older models used to be thinner and had solid casebacks, which I prefer.... take a look at 2254.50 Seamaster... what a stunning watch. I do wish they brought that back with an adjustable clasp and maybe no helium valve Anyway, wishing you all the best and look forward to seeing you get your Sub / GMT! (After the DateJust I think I'll ask for the no date sub....I do love them, but I'd like my first and main watch to be a little classic 36mm.....I have a medium sized man wrist, but I do like watches 36mm-41mm , and love my G shock 5600e, and I did love my Omega Speedmaster 1861 which I had to sell unfortunately)

After that I told him I wanted to buy the watch I came for and he went to the back and had to ask. Then told me we can sell it to you. Just a small deposit and we”ll call you when it arrives. And 3 months later there it was my Datejust in the configuration I wanted. Now asked for a submariner no date, same story did a non-refundable deposit and they will reach out to me. They estimated 2-6 months, not bad actually! Next I will probably ask for a GMT.

I've been on the hunt for a Rolex for a while, I wanted one because I love watches and wanted to celebrate a couple of special things that had happened recently in my life. I've been treated on par by AD's how you've been treated, if not worse. At this point, the Rolex I wanted to buy has gone from a symbol of celebration to a symbol of being patronized, dismissed, and overall treated as though I was lucky to spend a whole lot of my hard earned money. When I do get the call from the AD, I'm not sure I'll even keep it, I'd rather just sell the stupid thing and never deal with this BS again.

The idea that the watch you want and CAN afford can't be the first watch in your collection is idiotic. That's pure Rolex and AD bullshit. You should look for Jay Leno's video on why he doesn't own a Ferrari even though he is one of the world's most renowned car collector. It might give you a different perspective before you drop a chunk of cash on a Rolex. I love how I'm treated by my Omega boutique and IWC AD, so I get more owner satisfaction with my watches. My wife uses my account with our Rolex AD to get her Rolexes, but I simply won't buy a Rolex until they change their business model. Quick addendum: You should look at others like Jaeger, Vacheron, Breitling, etc. If you're willing to buy several watches just to become a VIP Rolex customer, I highly recommend skipping Rolex altogether and buy one A. Your follow up visit sounds like a much better experience! I agree with you 100% about customer service. When you walk in to the Louis Vuitton store in Paris, they hand you a glass of champagne. They don't ask if you intend to purchase anything. They simply want to make you feel special. In my opinion, that is how you treat a customer. Make them feel special, no matter whether they are browsing, buying, or just walking through.

I'm with you on that. you should be able to try on any piece you'd like and be put on the wait list of the particular piece you want. I had similar experience with one AD where I'm from. They're a private jeweler so they only hold a handful of brands, Rolex, Tudor, Patek, JLC, Panerai. They kind of had the same mindset, but didn't have any models to try on. I tried to build a relationship around the watch hobby, talked at length about Rolex. Bought two Tudor watches on two different trips. asked about the waiting lists for Rolex to added to one, wasn't added because I wasn't one of their "special" clients. recognized the GS on my wrist. From my experience, it just boils down to the AD and even the sales person at that AD. Finding the right AD is just part of the hunt like finding the right watch, it just makes it more fun in my opinion.

I don't know why you people bother playing these games. There is no brand in the world that is worth playing these silly AD games. I've owned a Starbucks 126610LV and a batman on oystersteel for about two years now. In this last year, I've worn them both maybe a handful of times. Ive been considering this for a while but I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger on selling them both for two reasons. 1. They're going for ridiculous prices now 2. I can't even wear them in the major city I live in without feeling like I have a target on my back because of how overhyped this brand has become (undeservedly). And its not as easy as " Oh just get insurance, everything will be fine". I'm sorry, but jewelers insurance is not going to prevent getting pistol whipped or getting beaten and sustaining permanent brain damage or some other physical disability. A lot of criminals aren't even asking anymore, they attack first to leave you vulnerable then start demanding. I really am glad that I got to own them though because I got the submariner and GMT itch scratched. They're great watches but after owning for a couple years, they're honestly kinda boring. But I guess that's what makes them classic. In either case, as a long time watch collector, I think my palette has outgrown the boring traditional submariner and gmt designs. Time to move on! Will use at least some of the money to fund my next JLC or maybe I just go all out and get a Lange. Great video BTW!

Rolex isn’t a shop window brand anymore. It’s all order book now driven by exhibition pieces. Rolex doesn’t need to supply more watches. The grey market means Rolex can deliver predictable/sustainable year on year profits by incrementally increasing prices and launching limited runs. It’s taken Rolex 50 years of trial and error since the quartz crisis to reach this sweet spot. They ain’t going to change what they’re doing because you want a sub. They probably have 100 people chasing every watch, with a bunch more joining the line every year.

To be honest I don't know how to take you. I think you are being honest but very selfish. In my view it is good fortune you live in a rich country where there are Rolex ADs available. Many people don't have the privilege to live near a Rolex AD and have the money for a Rolex. Additionally, you were allowed to speak to an AD. You were offered many watches from one of the most coveted watch companies in the world. Why get angry/frustrated at a comment by an AD? It's just simple economics that there is only one Rolex factory for the whole world. The demand is huge but the supply is small. Put in for the waiting list before you miss your chance.

I totally get I am in a position of privilege being able to afford a watch like that, but I have worked my butt off to get to this point. I don't think anyone yourself included should feel "lucky" that a sales person gives you the time of day, regardless of the brand, it's their job. The economics is a seperate issue, I made it really clear I am happy to wait for the watch, but I am not happy to spend my hard earned money on a watch I don't want in order to be considered for something I do like, nor am I okay to have anyone, let along a sales assistant be patronising and rude towards me. I hope you take that for what it is, me being honest and expecting a little basic common courtesy. I'd expect the same for anyone in my shoes. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

So, I sort of get your rant on arrogant Rolex ADs, but.......if you were an AD, who would you want to sell a Pepsi or Batman to at MSRP giving them an unrealized profit of $10k USD to $15k USD? Some random girl walking off the street who has never done business with you that you might never see again except maybe when she wants another Rolex stainless sport watch…..or…… a long term customer with a record of purchases including other brand watches and/or jewelry? Especially if you as the AD only get 1 or 2 Batman's or Pepsi's a month. It's a simple case of supply and demand. People love Rolex, so demand is high. Rolex dictates the supply, so inventory is low. You as the AD have to decide how to distribute what little supply you get. Why is it so hard to accept the fact the AD might favor their best customers first over newer customers? If you can't play by these rules, rather than whine about it, just forget Rolex and go somewhere else. You think Rolex is bad...try Patek or AP. Let me know if you find the watch you want there at retail. Stick to cheaper brands like Panerai or Tag or Breitlng. Plenty in stock.

Maybe, but I wasn't walking off the street - I have purchase history with their parent company and was sent there by another AD and frankly the whole argument about keeping these things off the gray market is rubbish. It's not for the ADs to police and it will happen regardless, there seem to be more than enough of them in stock on that market. I'm happy to go on a list and wait. I'm not happy to be treated like crap, that was my point. Also all my Panerai's retail for the same or more than the retail on the watches I was looking at - afterall the ones we all seem to crave are steel sports watches... not the precious metals (at least not for me). thanks for watching.

Great channel! Nice to see a fresh face in this hobby. I feel your pain. I've been to the same Rolex boutique in Sydney four times. It's licenced by the Hourglass. Each of my visits to the store were just as awkward & patronizing. But that doesn't bother me as I know what to expect & I don't take it too seriously. I just like checking out the new models and chatting to the staff. They actually know very little about watches. I end up educating them. At the end of the day, they're just sales people trying to make a living; they're not real watch enthusiasts. The sales people are all given the same training by Rolex. They have to have experience with selling other mid-tier Swiss brands retailed by the Hourglass before they can graduate to selling Rolex. I know this because I've been visiting the other Hourglass store on King Street for more than 10 years & the staff there told me they started off selling Breitling, Longines and Tag Heuer -the 'bread & butter' watches before they were allowed upstairs to sell Patek, Vacheron & Rolex brands. Occasionally you get lucky with someone who has a bit of a friendlier personality but usually you get the same cold treatment. Apparently, Melbourne has friendlier staff than Sydney, which doesn't Surprise me as Sydney was just recently voted as the third most unfriendly city in the World, just a whisker infront of Denmark & Sweden as having cities with the least friendliest people. On my last visit to the boutique, I saw a pile of Rolex catalogues and asked for one. I was told 'No. Sorry, they're for our customers'. I had to laugh. How the fuck do I become a customer if you won't sell me a watch? Although, many collectors are put off by this kind of mistreatment, I am still a Rolex fanboy. Don't let the hype and the snobbery of the brand deter you from your ambition to own one if that's what you want. I've collected watches for 20 years. I've owned many other brands but at the end of the day you should buy what you actually want. Not what other people think is a better brand or value for money. For example I once bought a Speedmaster moon watch because everyone was hyping it to be a 'must have' in your collection piece. But after a few months I sold mine as it was not my style and the non water resistance wasn't suited to my beach lifestyle. Eventually I sold most of my watches and consolidated to collect only Rolex. I now own 7 of them. None are bought from an AD. I only collect neo-vintage pre-ceramic Rolexes from 1990s through the mid 2000s. I think these are the sweet spot in Rolex buying. Some are still available at reasonable prices & to me they represent the real tool watches that Rolex built their reputation on before they became fashion accessories. I grew up reading National Geographic magazines and when I first saw the Rolex ads in them, I aspired to own one. To me they represent success, passion and professionalism.

@@AussieWristWatchJust watched all your videos & subscribed to the channel. It's great you're getting into all different brands. You have a passion at first. Eventually, you'll have amassed a collection when you will come to a decision of passion versus investment. For me, that balance was found in Rolex. Love or hate the brand, it's the most recognized in the world such that you can literally use a Rolex as hard currency even in a third world country. In fact, if you offered me US$ or an equivalent value Rolex as payment, I would take the genuine Rolex. The Rolex has historically appreciated in value over time. Whereas the value of the dollar is worth less due to inflation and being over-printed it's real value is not worth the paper its printed on. As for buying a neo-vintage Rolex, look at a no-date Sub or a 40mm Sea-Dweller. At least, once you've acquired your first Rolex you can always trade it later to upgrade without losing money. Once you buy your first Rolex (stainless steel sports), it will hopefully continue to appreciate whilst you wear it for a few years. Then you can decide whether to trade or sell it to upgrade. Not much different to buying real estate. It's a matter of getting into the market. That's my strategy and how I ended up with 7 Rolexes. I've lost money on most of my trades except Rolex. It's the only brand I've never lost money on. My first Rolex was a 40mm polar Explorer II. I bought it for A$6000 about 3 years ago. It's now roughly doubled in value. It was initially a purchase of convenience as I found it by accident. It wasn't the Magnum P.I. Pepsi I wanted but eventually I learned to appreciate it more than the GMT, as I realised it's the same model worn by mountain climber Ed Viesturs, who summited 14 of the highest mountain peaks wearing it and was also worn by Norwegian explorer, Erling Kagge who was the first person to reach the north and south poles by foot and has also summited Everest with the same Rolex. Therefore that Rolex reference 16570 has probably achieved more feats than any other sports Rolex.

I have searched several places and learnt about this shortage situation. On the other hand I walked into an omega and learnt you can buy one straight away incl iconic Speedmaster. My current state of mind is, naively is waiting for a Rolex call one day. Is Rolex the best watch out there ? No Is Rolex the most historical watch? No Is Rolex in the holy trinity ? No Are there watches cheaper and better than Rolex ? Yes Is Rolex unnecessarily overhyped ? Yes So I keep asking myself why am I still willing to wait for a Rolex I feel Rolex achieves a blend of many of the elements history, marketing, quality, brand and not achieving the heights of being the best yet the one that is the top after conmbining all the elements Plus it’s that little child in me staring outside that Rolex store aspiring to be able to afford one

There’s no denying that creating such a exclusivity in Rolex is amazing from a brand perspective and I have no issue with that, but a sales guy doesn’t need to be a douche. You gotta get what your yearn for, it that’s a Rolex, then I say wait and imagine how amazing it will be when you get it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

I had the same experience with thinking a Rolex was priced at $40k or up. Not that you could get one for around $10k if you got them at retail until I started researching them, only to figure out that it was very difficult to get one at retail.

Yes, that's the truth, so even if they are 10K retail, actually being able to buy a that price is an entirely different story.

Been in your place when I started taking collecting seriously. Got so upset. Gave up on Rolex. Bought other brands I enjoyed. Every now and then go back to Rolex to get on the casual waiting list and never getting the watch :D

Just some thoughts, Rolex did not create this shortage. Well, if you want to say it was because of Rolex releasing the Daytona LN in 2016 that supposedly started the speculation that quickly spread to all other models then okay, I guess they did but I wouldn’t think any entity could have possibly saw that coming. So by in large demand is many many times more than what Rolex can make, as a valuable luxury brand it’s taken them more than 100 years to build and by increasing supply to meet demand would be a short sighted decision that could significantly damage the brand’s long term equity. That is also assuming they can, as much as people think Rolex is machine made, it really isn’t all automated and it requires watchmakers, even if infrastructure isn’t an issue, there are only so many watchmakers qualified. Keep in mind this isn’t tech where people are rushing into the profession, I reckon fewer and fewer people grow up wanting to be watchmakers as older ones retire. When you have 1000 people asking you for one watch I don’t blame them for maximizing their revenue in the process. Revenue is after all important, after 2 or 3 watches they get to know you better especially when you keep visiting them wearing those watches they will become comfortable with you. You need to understand probably 90% of people that walk in for the first time are just trying to make a quick buck and they need to screen them out. Even if they sell to the right people and their end game is a GMT Master II, then it becomes a one and done, you will never see that customer in the store again and that’s just not a good business model. They want to retain you as a customer for life and know you are open to buy other models.

Some interesting thoughts. I don't necessarily agree with the argument that in order to maintain repeat business as their basis they do this. What other watch brand does that and I am sure their model like all sales models would consider and seek retention and repeat buyers, but they do it the old fashioned way - through innovative product development and good customer service.

@@AussieWristWatch I absolutely agree, no one else does this. But because no one else is in that position and I will wager every watch company wants to have that problem where every watch they make will sell itself in days if not within hours. We need to also understand Rolex simply does what it has always done, all customer interactions are handled by its dealer network. Rolex doesn’t own any Boutiques except for one in Geneva I think. With that, it really isn’t the fault of Rolex how it’s handled. So how did Rolex become so successful outside of the being the best marketing machine? They have one very strategic advantage that no other watch company can ever achieve; and that is Rolex is a non profit, managed by a foundation and not driven by hitting sales targets, no YoY growth, no stock holders to answer to and no pressure to continuously revise a product just to boost short term sales. They do what is best for the brand and if lowering production (not saying they do) and making no money for the next 5 years to ensure it’s brand equity for the next 50 years they can do that. No other for profit company will ever allow that to happen.

I totally understand your frustration . Most people have experienced similar stories with Rolex ADS. But in life no matter what walk of life your in , you will come across a:::holes . It was my misfortune to come across , in my opinion the rudest most elitist company bar none , Watches of Switzerland . On the flip side I then found a great Rolex AD in Glasgow (Scotland ). I for one would never pay above retail on the grey market. The watches are valued by Rolex at X Yor Z . So why would I pay two , three times what the people who make them , think they're worth . Hope you get the watches your after Jessica .

And always told me they would do their best but told me it could be difficult to get them . I am a normal working class guy. I have had a few watches off them and was made to feel as important as anybody else . Top AD in my opinion
