I've loved these guys for over 50 years now. When I was in the army and surrounded by the likes of Dip Poiple and Led Bedpan, I was playing the Bonzos, Fairport, the Flamin' Groovies and Daddy Cool! I memorized all the Bonzo's stuff as avidly as I did the Firesign Theatre's. Now my wife and I and our 20 year old niece close the show at family affairs with our unique interpretation of "Hunting Tigers Out In India!" Gawd bless the Bonzo Dog Band!

The Best Parody/Satire band ever ! I saw them do a surprisingly unpredictable WHO-Tommy Parody, with a great musical build-up, and then Neil jumps in the air, utters "When I was", then utter silence............ What a delightfulbunch of musical clowns ? Just like this piece here where they impune the Honesty of White Blues performers who NEVER Really had to survive through suffering times.

I agree that the Bonzos and the Mothers of Invention head the class of parody with great musicianship. Was lucky enough to them in the early 70s at the Boston Tea Party, Landsdowne Street. We really need a Holodeck and recreate the perfect craziness of a live Bonzo Dog Band show.

This statement is spot on with so many white guitar players out there nowadays. They have no problems to speak of, but the cultural mecca for them is to go out and play blues all night. Not anything else, just BLUES. Gets old after a while.

Barry, are you one of The Mellishes? I was at St Joseph's 1959-66; I might have got on the rugby field with Mick once (probably as a waterboy); Rob had returned to school as a teacher in about 1963(?). My friends went to the Tiger's most Friday evenings for the Bonzos but I preferred to hang around Peter Pan Pool and smoke Chesterfields - I already had the blues. Viv woulda unnerstood me.
