I’m Mexican but I also have stage 5 CKD; so 90% of my nurses and ppl who take care of me are Filipino & let me tell y’all aside from Mexican food, I absolutely love Filipino food. Lechón is my absolute favorite 🤩🤤🤤🤤 I think I’m the only Mexican that loooooves Rice with all my meals. 😊

Actually, the boodle fight originates in the Filipino military where the soldiers share all their food, rice, sardines, eggs, fish, and fruits. Etc... put it all on banana leaves, and eat it all together in the jungle. now, it's a part of Filipino gatherings. wonderful experience. even my American friends are doing it now in the states.

I know I keep adding to the comments but one thing I wanted to say is MARK KNOWS HOW TO EAT these foods. When he jons the family, he gets info when he asks...and he KNOWS how to mix the meats, the veggies, the fruits, etc. into a PERFECT taste. I always watch more than once. He teaches me SO much!

Wow, amazing video Mark, thank you! I’m so impressed about how everything was done the natural way. No rush, no stress either - even when it started to rain during the video shoot. No gas, no electricity involved in the cooking and it occurred to me that nearly all food items were fresh and either grown or caught nearby. Talk about pure living and having a minimum footprint with regards to the environment! I’ve seen some ‘authentic village food’ videos before and not all seem to be tasty. I’m familiar with your videos and I know that you never hype up food that you don’t like, so I know the food is as delicious as you say it is. 👍

Man this made me drool! 4:39am Anyone want cup noodles while watching?😂😂 Fun facts: That boiled banana can also be dipped in fermented fish sauce(bagoong) with chillies and onions ☺️ I like that kind of banana a bit ripe but some prefer it green when boiled.. The chicken and pork looks delicious. The sweet and sour fish salad dish looks just as yummy too. The only disadvantage it takes quite long to cook dishes because they have to get the fire started.🤩 Unique dishes. Any food that is cooked with firewood definitely tastes better.

Nope. Inun-unan, Utan Bisaya, monggoes, ginagmay, larang, adobe etc 😅😂 Humba and paklay sa Pista. Lechon is common as well during Pista.

Watching from US! Incredible and yummy food. I really enjoy the boodle fight style eating; using hands (kamayan), whole family gather around and then eat all food laid out on the table (on banana leave). As always, great video Mark!❤️

That fish and pork combo Mark is called SINUG-LAW. "Sinug" stands for SINUGBA ( in Bisaya ) meaning grilled and LAW ( pronounced as LAO) stands for KINILAW. Kinilaw is any fish marinated in vinegar or kalamansi and other spices. Filipinos are very good in making names of their food combos using the first few letters and maybe last few letters of the name of the food.😊 I am happy you love Pinoy food now..👍🏼❤️

Hi Mark! One tip in doing the "kinamot." (eating with your bare hands) Don't twist your wrist once it gets to your mouth. You only need to push the rice, kinilaw and the humba with your thumb all at once. Pls try it.
