Nice video Mr. Boogie, great to see the loop is being used off-peak now. The removal of first class might not have pleased everyone but it saves the on train ticket staff from a whole lot of hassle. Well done 🤓

The 2004 timetable had an hourly Cannon Street to Ashford off peak service via the Chislehurst loop as well.

Didn't know about that.

That's cool. That's why I thought I'd point it out :)

Yes I was going to point this out too. Not sure when it began but it resulted in a half hourly victoria plus hourly Cannon St on the Maidstone line. I believe it ended on the recast in 2009 when the HS services were introduced. I think this extra service to CS got extended to Canterbury West after 2004, hence why it became sacrificial in the recast?

It's interesting that South Eastern has now removed all 1st class accommodation because I recall that when the 375s were first built they had no provision for it. This apparently led to outrage from the better off of Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks so antimacassars were hurriedly placed on seat backs in certain sections of the units as a sop to those who wanted to pay more. Since that time, there was always a nominal 1st class, though repositioned and reduced on the 3756xx, 7xx and 8xx in recent years. Nevertheless the seats remained the same whether they were designated 1st or standard so there was very little real benefit from paying extra. The only units with marginally superior seating in 1st class are the later-modified 4659s. Good film.

Southeastern should still keep the Class 465 and Class 466 Networkers as they are still as reliable and some have been modified with Hitachi traction motors. I like Southeastern because they run such amazing rail services in Southeast London, Kent and East Sussex.
