Hey Super Nerds! What did you guys think of this episode? Overall, I really enjoyed this one!
First of all, the emotion Walker conveys when he’s screaming “Annabeth” is insane. And the amount of acting he and Leah do with just their eyes? It’s amazing! Leah’s nominated for an NAACP Image Award for her performance in this series and it’s so well deserved. I really hope she wins🥹
And we met Crusty and Charon, we saw Cerberus, and Jay Duplass as Hades? I really enjoyed his portrayal, I must say. And that Sally and Poseidon scene?! I can’t believe there’s only one more episode!😭

Seriously, doesn't Zeus have anything better to do than watch what his older brother is doing? Loved that scene between Sally and Poseidon, him just listening to her, helping her figure things out and her having someone to talk to, even it's just for a moment...

Pls, I feel that so deeply in my soul😭 I feel like the first two episodes just dropped, how are we already 7 episodes deep?! YES. They have to! With all of the stuff they’ve been doing, going to Disney World, doing the Percy Was Here thing, and the documentary coming out after the finale, I don’t see how there can’t be! We will manifest it together😂

Honestly, probably just longer episodes would be good. I was looking at the chapter titles of the second book, seeing what would flow well as a single episode (and trying to guess which chapters the writers would choose to pack into one). I feel like 7 or 8 episodes would be sufficient as long as they're 40-45 minutes each

Omg the pain in Percy's voice and the look on his face when they're looking for & find Annabeth 😭 Walker & Leah's acting in that scene was top notch 👌 And I also think her regret is to do with her dad. Coz then it's building up to when she tells Percy she'll be going back to her dad's at the end of the summer. Loved ur reaction btw!

Hermes told them about the hidden entrance in Crusty’s to the Underworld and alluded to no one returning because Crusty traps and unalives them. During my rewatch of episode 6 I noticed this especially since I saw other people commenting this in other reaction videos. I love doing rewatches of episodes so I see what I missed of my first viewing of an episode

Lol, yeah, I realized it around the 2:55 mark of the video it hit me😂 I suddenly remembered Annabeth reading the letter in the parking garage. Same, I love rewatching the episodes and noticing the little things they do, or the references they make. I love it💕

This episode wasn’t perfect but I still loved it. All the flashback scenes, however, were perfect. I get so annoyed by the other book readers (not you) who pick everything apart haha

I agree, I loved it! The flashback scenes were sad, but sweet, it added more depth to the characters, it’s so wonderful! No literally, it’s annoying when people do that, I’m just over here having a good time😂

I love that Annabeth wasn't there when Hades was talking about his helm of invisibility, because many people who hadn't read the book think it's her who is the thief and who will betray Percy. And that is what she regrets because she had became good friends with Percy. I love that most of the new audience didn't catch up who the traitor is😂.

Just side note I love that their story is friends to lovers not enemies to lovers, but I wouldn't mind reading a fic like that.👀

Annabeth is something else in my opinion Leah captures her personality so we'll. Of course! Percy really is smart, and decisive, especially later on. I mean, he orchestrated the battle of Manhattan (with Annabeth, but still), he understands peoples’ strengths and how to utilize what they have. Leah is an incredible Annabeth, she definitely captures her essence. I know, it’s so sad! Between them going to Disney together and doing all of these “Percy was here” stuff, I feel like a season 2 announcement has to be on the rise. I hope🤞🏼 Thanks John! I appreciate you watching!!

Loved your reaction to the Sally and Poseidon scene, might be my favourite part of this episode and it's just so cool they included something like that when it was never in the books. Honestly loved how we only saw the bad parts of the Underworld and not Elysium here as it makes the location as scary as it should be but it also let Hades and Cerberus come off as much lighter in comparison. Can't wait to see what they do with the final now as it feels like it's been set up so well with lots of time devoted to the big end fight with Ares plus resolving all the other stuff like Luke, Gabe and the Bolt, now I just need the announcement for season 2 already 😂😂

Lol, thank you! It’s one of my favorite parts as well, it was just so unexpected and sweet. Yeah, we never saw their relationship in the books, so I think it may be my favorite addition they’ve created for the show. Ooh, that’s true, it did make a good contrast with them, and it definitely keeps the gloomy environment seem more continuous and endless. Me too! They’ve hyped up the Ares fight so much, so I’m very highly anticipating that part. I’m looking forward to seeing Olympus as well… And I’m interested to see how things with Luke and Gabe are going to unfold. For real! I’m waiting, not so patiently😂

Gods are only present in multiple places at once in their realms of influence/when their names are called. Hermes can be where people pray for luck, need a message delivered, animal husbandry, thievery, traveling on the road, etc. Poseidon was hiding Percy from everybody, that’s why Zeus didn’t immediately blame the stealing of the bolt on Percy, because he didn’t know if he was Poseidon’s son (at least not for sure). After Poseidon and Sally met in his realm of influence (the beach) not Zeus’, Zeus would not have been present in Percy’s life when Poseidon is also there to figure out his brother had broken the oath. The reason the gods know a lot of things outside their realm throughout the series is because of the gossip that spreads from Camp Half Blood. The thunder was probably just the “storm” part of Poseidon’s powers (something he shares with Zeus, except Zeus is a little more electrified, haha). The thunder would represent his heart breaking. Grover and Mr. Brunner’s presence at Yancy was probably partially how Hades’ cronies tracked down Percy, suspecting the Helm thief to be this child that needs a lot of protection from camp. Hades could have also just been a lot better at finding out info against his brothers (invisibility) for future bargaining chips for his own babies.

Oh no, for sure! I know that. And yeah, the rain started right after Sally made the offering, so it was definitely from Poseidon. It‘s just that in the restaurant, Poseidon had taken a second to think about talking to Percy. But then there was a thunder clap, and it was almost like he thought better of it because of his brother. I felt like that was why Poseidon ultimately decided not to talk to Percy yet because of Zeus. Sally didn’t want them to influence Percy before he was ready and Poseidon didn’t want that either

Ohhh, I see! Lol, yeah, that wouldn’t make sense. Maybe using “inadvertently” in the video as a joke was the wrong word choice😂 I just meant that the thunder reminded him of Zeus and lead him to make the decision he made

I really, really liked your thoughts on this episode, it was fantastic! The Procrustus scene was also a good choice because recording studios rarely exist anymore, and having a brother of Percy alludes to the next season. Making sure the kids didn’t have a bondage bed scene was a thankful mercy on them (and us, eww). The milk carton from the 1990’s phrase made me think of missing children…… 👀👀👀 Edit: Also Annabeth said she already tried unsticking her regret, and she has a knife just as strong as Percy’s Riptide.

Yes! I saw the trailer for it, I'm very excited to see it, I love watching their behind the scenes videos. I can definitely film a reaction to it! They're all just so happy to be there because they're huge fans, too! And they get to be kids and goof around, I feel like a proud mom watching those videos. And since they're newer actors they're still so pure, and sweet, I hope they stay that way. I saw a video someone made the other day about how they met the cast at Disney. She was sitting in a lobby looked up and made eye contact with Leah. Leah saw her Annabeth cosplay, screamed and asked HER for a picture. Then Walker tapped her on the shoulder a few minutes later and said, "Hi! I'm Walker, what's your name?" Then him and Aryan freaked out when she asked them to sign her book because they saw she had the original Lightning Thief cover. They're so innocent and polite, I love it.
