I'm going to midnight Mass tonight, tonight marks one year back going to church. 🎄 God is Love

The Ignatius bible study guide is just amazing, the answers are there. That with the Denzinger, Confessions and Introduction to Chirsitanity brings you almost all answers to defend the Catholic Faith.

New subscriber here! Slowly coming back to the faith. Just did my confirmation 2 weeks ago and looking forward to reading and learning more about Catholicism :) thank you for the book recommendations.

I appreciate the suggestions! I’m reading On Classical Trinitarianism, a collection of articles from a variety of theologians from across denominational lines on the importance of this fundamental doctrine. It’s just in time for the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea!

That is a great point what you say about reading too much spiritual warfare and demonology type books and stuff. I'd say the same applies to consuming too much Church politics kind of stuff. I used to listen to way too much of that kind of thing. Where they are always talking about Pope Francis did this or that and Bishop did such and such.

only book that I can say completely changed my life is Mere Christianity, which began my journey into the Church.

Amber, I don't know how often you read comments, I wanted to know do you think the running societal joke, which can come in different variants, about something or someone is "my spirit animal/your spirit animal" encourages indifference toward the occult to a certain degree?

Do I have to pray an already written prayer or can I just ask God to bless my food?
@DelicateCheese7 күн бұрын
Just ask. But make it meaningful and dedicate some time, more than “god bless”. It’s not that it isn’t enough, but if you truly mean with intention you would have a longer prayer. 10-20 seconds is probably plenty (its the length of mine, and it comes partly from a prayer hook). When it comes to specifically what you should do in prayer, a Fr./monastic is very useful. Listen to them over anything online.
