You know, that's exactly the reason why I don't want to start digital planning. I do not want to have to worry about power or battery or any other digital problems. My notebook and my pen are always there...and that's what I love so much about it. The little break from our digital world for a few minutes everyday to get my mind sorted out are so precious

I love using paper and Pen also this is my definite preference. But sometimes there's part of me that wonders what would happen if I lost my planner and everything that's on paper....it would just be gone and I will have no copies of it whereas if it's in digital it's always there. I go back and forth with it and I definitely don't want to have to bother with keeping up with my planner on my computer as well as written form just too much if anyone has any ideas out there please give me some suggestions.

You can use Moleskine if you want to do analog to digital conversion. And I don't know why people want to journal with IPad and Apple pencil. Nothing beat the satisfaction from writing on quality papers with your pen of choice.

Welcome home, All is Forgiven!!!!! (Kidding, you do not need forgiveness!) But I am so glad to see you revisiting paper planning, and I am genuinely interesting in seeing how you go about combining digital and analog methods. I think I only watched a couple of your digital planning videos, and I have to admit I didn't see the point of recreating artistic layouts digitally. That, of course, was only my opinion, since I am also not very interested in creating digital art. I have Ryder's book on order for my Kindle and am really looking forward to reviewing it. For 2019 I am trying something different: a bare-bones planner in a Hobonichi Weeks, to have available always, and a personal journal in am A5 Enigma. The personal journal will include some art journaling, I hope; and I am not sure whether my Collections will end up in the Weeks or the personal journal. I don't maintain nearly as many collections as I did in previous years. I did consider moving appointments to the calendar on my smartphone, but honestly - it's faster for me to plot and consult them in paper form! Thanks for sharing your rekindled excitement, Kara. 💖

So excited for this. SUGGESTION: Maybe you can use your bullet journal as a creativity space. You can use the paper journal to push yourself creatively and make spreads for that! I miss seeing your analog bujo!

Oh wow! I would be over the moon to win that book! Thank you so much for your videos. I enjoy them all. I am only in my third month of bullet journaling. Your 30 days in your analog journals were very inspiring. I struggle with sticking to tasks. Growing up I heard from my father, "If you can't do it right don't do it at all!" I really hate that saying! Even now in my mid forties I have that line hindering me from continuing when something is not going perfectly or as planned. Making a task/goal list and having the freedom to just migrate guilt free has been a game changer for me! Thanks again for sharing!

lately my bullet journal has consisted of aesthetic spreads for instagram that are full of colours, washi tape and lettering but have lost all practicality. watching you plan on paper again has inspired me to step back and change the way ive been using my bullet journal as it was this very account that inspired me to start bullet journalling back in 2016. so THANK YOU Kara, your videos never fail me. :) xx

BTW, Kara, I use my digital GTD system for my next actions and other lists and use my analog "BuJo" to plan my day and track what i did each day and habit traking and reflection on each day and of course, draw. :)

It has been a long time since I've been so excited about a non-fiction book as this one! Since I have been bullet journaling for about 2 years, sometimes you just need some fresh ideas, new inspiration and another perspective. Lately I've felt I need something new, not just spread ideas or new tools, more like a fresh start over or new "intent". This book seems to be just what I need, right now! I´m thinking about buying for myself as a birthday present (2 weeks - but who is counting). Hopefully I will get my hands on a copy with this cover, I like it so much better than what seems to be the UK version. Thank you so much Kara for this video and all the help through this 2 years :)

I’m a teacher and I do all of my lesson planning digitally because it’s just easier for me, but I carry my bullet journal with me wherever I go, and it is a great tool for me. You may like the Rocket Book. It is a reusable notebook that has icons to send snapshots to the cloud. It uses Frixion pens, highlighters, markers, etc only. I am really trying to pare down on paper usage (still going through all my paper clutter) and this is helping me not accumulate a ton more.

Hey, Kara! I guess the quality issue has something to do with the book's copyrights. When we show a book in such details, KZbin's algorithm block the 720/1080px quality. Although the quality isn't that great I'm in love with your review! Pretty excited to get my copy of the book!

I can't believe Ryder's book is finally out! I remember when the announcement was made that his book was in the works, it seemed like November was a lo-o-ng way off. I am excited, too! And glad to hear that it is both technical and fun! When you go to the book launch (yea!), can you get some autographed bookplates signed- or suggest that he make them available to all of us who live across the country? Thanks. How awesome is that. I can hardly wait to get it. I went to Amazon and was torn- Kindle or hardcover? Well- I am preordering the Hardcover!!! I want to connect it with my bujo- I want to have it right there in paper. I'm learning that books I read for recreation can be Kindle, but the others need to be physical books. So much easier to stick in a colored tab to mark a special passage, highlight, etc. Altho you can do that digitally- it just isn't the same. My son has the same books in both formats as sometimes he just wants the real book in his hands. When he's out and about he reads the digital versions. He's odd for a Millennial.

Don't know whether I am relieved that it is released here the same time or still frustrated because I want to read it NOW. I was thinking the same thing, but I was able to change it to "1080p60" once kara got into the book's index part of the video. Just incase you didn't know this already> Go to the 3 dots or settings (shaped like a gear) on the video screen options, it should be there to change it.

Can you import some key pages and spreads in your Paper BUJO into your digital one by just taking a photo and pasting it in? So the good stuff you create on paper can still be accessible on your iPad.

Looks an interesting read and I love the Leuchtturm - I use the latter as a creative planner (am a visual artist and also love to play with paper/card) but while my planning style tries emulate bullet journaling the results are more chaotic due to flashes of inspiration and excitement ...your style is beautiful and organised and also has creative touches...I suppose our styles are reflections of ourselves? tfs and for the giveaway

How do I know if I am in the giveaway? I’m not sure if just putting the email in the linked website worked I am currently using my digital planner for things that I usually take too much time to do and does not change a lot from one month to another, such as trackers and mood mandala and also for diary (because of the privacy) and I use the bullet journal for my work and appointments, to write do to lists and other things and in there if I am in the mood to do a really pretty spread I will, if not I make it simple. For me is the best method so far. Love to hear more ideas.
