Glad you're OK & that everything medical went well. Love the idea of using the Alistair Method as task status tracker. So much of a neater and especially more concise method of monitoring each task's status throughout entire week. I use Alistair method at beginning of journal. At front of BuJo I still use original Future Calendar for scheduling items for future months. I cross-index/compile appts, events, etc with a hybrid yearly calendar using Calendex method on left page of spread & Alistair method on rt page. Two to three months per spread works well for me. I'm going to change this week's weekly spread to one like yours & see if it works better for me than the one I've been using. For people on a tight budget there's an excellent notebook perfect for BuJo that costs around $9 to $10. It's name is Exceed and it's sold at Walmart. When at Walmart site enter in search window "A5 Exceed". I'm not sure about all the different types of Exceed notebooks but I can say that I've ink-and-writing-instrument tested the A5 notebooks and got no ghosting, no bleedthrough with fountain pens using a wide range of inks & pens. The paper even held up to flex pens and even dip pens! Notebook comes with preprinted Table of Contents, 240 numbered pages and pocket in the back.

About your ink tests using fountain pens such as the Benu pen: The feathering is most likely not the pen but the ink that caused it. Feathering is related more to both the properties of the ink and the paper and will occur no matter what pen is used. Ghosting & bleedthrough are more complex involving not only the paper's properties, but also: the ink - how wet or dry, how color saturated, and how thick or thin each is; the pen - how wet or dry, how fast or slow the ink flow in each is; The nib size and type (flex/nonflex, steel/14k/18k/titanium). When testing paper with different pens and inks I find it enormously helpful to write a line with each that includes: the pen type (ballpoint, rollingball, microfiber, fountain, etc); pen brand & model, the nib size, and the ink (manufacturer, name & color) used. Two examples are: "Ftn, Benu Briolet, EF, Monteverde California Teal" or "Ftn, Conklin Freedom, Duraflex/Omniflex, Noodler's Navajo Turquoise." That gives me a simple sentence containing almost every variable involved in pen/ paper relationship. But then you probably already know all this. Love your posts, helpful ideas, and products!

Oh MY GOD I can't believe you got sent home! I get ovarian cysts all the time and sometimes they pop and when it does it makes me double over in pain and (TMI) liquid comes out and so its uncomfortable in all aspects, especially when it happens in public! Its been awhile tho so fingers crossed I'm not due soon 🤞 Anyways I'm so sorry that happened to you and I'm incredibly thankful that you're doing well and had a successful surgery! 💕

OMG - the same thing happened to my daughter (she was 14). Three doctors diagnosed her with an appendicitis. When the operated to remove her appendix, they saw there was nothing wrong with it. So they had to cut further where they discovered a cyst the size of a grapefruit - it too had turned itself and the infection spread throughout her abdomen! I remember the pain she was in and the recovery time after. I am glad to see you are on the mend and back at it!!

The Allistair (sp?) Method for tasks looks BRILLIANT; I would love more info about that! I am currently using both a Jane's Agenda dotted spiral journal and a Moleskine dotted cahier as my work bujos, and due to the nature of my job, I'm often working on projects for multiple days or weeks and have to be ready for last minute changes. I find it annoying to rewrite tasks or portions of projects all the time, and dislike flipping back and forth from day to day. I'm going to give this task method a go!

Question on the Alastair method. When there is something that you need to do “sometime” but has no time deadline but you don’t want it to fall through the cracks, do you list on your weekly without a “.” And then just forward it if you don’t do it that week. I’ve tried scheduling on a day but just keep forwarding and feel bad when I keep not doing. I used to put on a monthly list but then never get around to it. I’m bad at procrastinating!
@Bohoberryshop5 жыл бұрын
Yup! If it can be done any day, I usually leave the columns blank, and then just add the bullet when I'm ready to complete it 💜

Boho Berry at least if it’s on the weekly it gets brought to mind weekly when I have to forward it! At least it shames me once a week instead of once a month!

I'm so happy you are back! I had a semi-immediate surgery in August as well. My back went out on May 13th, and the pain was worse than I have ever felt on my back. We all thought it was just sciatica, but the pain was getting worse so my doctor ordered an x-ray and MRI. The radiologist called my doctor on a Sunday to her personal phone to say that I need to see a neurologist immediately. It turns out I had Severe Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Joint Disease all throughout my spine, and disc disease with mylopathy. I saw the neurologist on the Wednesday after the MRI (a Sunday) so 3 days later I saw her, then she said that next Friday I would get surgery (August 30th) I then was in the hospital for 6 days and then in rehab til that next Saturday. I may never be able to work again due to how bad my back was. I'll be disabled the rest of my life. It sucks but I'm dealing with it. Your videos always seem to motivate me. Thank you! And I'm glad you're doing better.

Boho Berry They are tough to recover from. I had a quick trip to the ER the other day because it looked infected (it’s fine and scabbed over now). The fact that you were sent home and told to take Motrin is ironic since I just watched Jon Oliver's Last Week Tonight episode about Bias in the medical profession (both race and gender biases). Women with serious medical issues (heart attack, post-mastectomy, etc) getting sent home with just OTC pain killers or told to take OTC pain killers was one of the features.
