Awesome man, I'd buy that version real quick :D I've already finished a few hours of John Sonmez's audiobook and I'll need something else to listen to while cycling and walking around after I am done with two of his audiobooks.

Dave your channel has been really helpful for me in making a change in my life. I left school a while ago and now im looking to go back. I doubted i could get a career in computers cause i sucked at math generally, but i find myself more interested in cs as i watch your videos. Thanks for the motivation.

Great update, look forward to the book. (2nd for a possible Audible version) I can think of a possible reason why technical video are less viewed. Most people watching tend to be on the go/mobile or possible multitasking. It's easier to digest those information than say a technical video, where it requires a little more focus to follow along. Just a trend in some of videos on KZbin, compared to coding tutorial videos and channel which tends to have lower subscriber and view counts. Soft video will appeal to a larger audience, since anyone can relate to the topic, whereas technical much smaller.

This book sounds interesting. I'm really curious to hear about the concrete examples in the book because that's very important to development.

arent u a web developer right now or are they the same thing?
@DaDarkJokaa
@DaDarkJokaa 6 жыл бұрын
If you have the core fundamentals and base knowledge of programming/coding then you should in theory be able to do both. Biggest difference is software developers make software for desktop, mobile, and many other platforms (including the web) as opposed to web developer's who usually just develop applications for the web.

the term web developer is becoming more overloaded. you should think of web as a platform. a lot of various different types of software go into making a web application function. if you click 1 button amazon, a ton of stuff is happening behind the scenes. If you write a specialized binary that helps power amazon.com, are you a web developer? the lines are a little blurred. there's a lot of software in this world, and the most popular way to consume it is via the internet. i don't know what to call it anymore. web development still works

Dave Xiang thank for replying. I saw your video at engineer truth for some reason I related so much to you. Am currently on my 3yr as a computer engineer . Also will do my master in computer engineering or software After I get my degree how can I be valuable and upscale my value. Like wat happens after college were can I get experience will qoulcom take me. Will a start up company take me. How can I start something with my degree. Cause school teaching's are not what major companies use. Will companies train me on what thier program does like so much to ask. I just want to make sure that I get a degree and start using it

is python really important to become a softwere engineer?
@davidb.6271
@davidb.6271 6 жыл бұрын
fortunately, not, you can become a Software Engineer using only languages and tech you like, if Python is not one you're comfortable with, you can definitively live without.

David B. Actully i m studying engineering and have studied c++ and java. Python is a bit different then traditional programming languages. That's why i asked. Can u tell me what kind of software developer r u?
@davidb.6271
@davidb.6271 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, but not that different for a C++ and Java :) I also learnt Java first, but then applying the principles I got from Java to other languages helped me to learn faster new languages. I'm doing a lot of things, let's call me a Full Stack software engineer.

If you're in Machine Learning / Deep Learning, you don't need to use Python directly, as you've client for other languages to use technologies such as tensorflow and similar toolkits / frameworks
